No we don't. Most of the people who defaulted lost their jobs or had an income reduction. The vast majority of them could have paid the loans off if the economy had not crashed.

This is probably like the $16 Trillion that was loaned over 3.5 years. Most of it was overnight loans that settled the next day with interest. If you add up the nominal amount of one day loans, it sounds like a huge amount over the course of a few months. But the amount outstanding at any one time was a fraction of a percent of that amount.
Agreed with ML/NJ - it rings true, regardless of the author's identity.
also, we are witnessing the support of MB values by the White House. Values which are antithetical to democracy as we know it; democracy as defined by English culture, law and religious - Christian - philosophy.
This is totally contrary to American culture.
Probably because $2 trillion hasn't dissipated from the public. The $16 Trillion that was loaned over the course of 3.5 years was all paid back with interest. So what's the problem? The only problem I see are the people who add up overnight loans and make it sound like an outrageous amount. Or make it sound like there is not collateral for the loans.
Oh and according to post 19, it’s a hoax anyway.
Maybe we don’t get upset about the Federal Reserve, because the Federal Reserve is doing what it’s supposed to be doing. Unlike Congress that is spending the farm.
The worse thing about the situation we’re in is that my 90y.o. German mother has flash backs in the middle of the night and calls to tell me about it all.
She never talked much about it when we were growing up, but now...the tales she tells.

Who created this hoax? Why did they do it? Why are the terms unavailable to us? Who asked for it? Who authorized it?
What he said is true, not a misrepresentation. He’s a student of history, not a teacher or scholar of it.
Something is in the air. And it has been unfolding for a lot more than a few decades.
The trajectory of history is to the end times described in the Bible.
A world attempting to unify, but still at war with itself. A world leader who sets up as a god. A world system that you either join or die.
It’s going to be a lot worse than what happened in Germany.
It’s the snazzy uniforms.

Maybe this is a hoax, probably it is.
However there are several mega-trends at work here. One is the unwinding of a massive credit bubble which apparently was also true at other times in history such as the 30’s and also the French Revolution.
Another is the passing of the baton in terms of economic superpower status - something that we’ve also seen in the past.
Another is the competition for natural resources that are seen to be increasingly threatened. We’ve also seen that movie before.
Another is the increasing role of race in today’s political debate.
Finally you have a government that is ambitious, has a tenuous relationship with the truth, and is supported by a propagandizing media.
While we’ve seen each of these megatrends before, what is scary to me is that what we are seeing now is that they are all converging.
Regardless of the authenticity of the original post, I find this convergence very troubling.
Agree the content is dead on! Cause when I grew up we did learn about how Hitler rose to power. Now I do not believe that Obama is the next Hitler - what I worry about is the next election. With all this distress it is ripe for someone to come in and take power.
I don’t think even Obama thinks he will ge re-elected. He said he was fine with being a one term president if he got all his goals accomplished. So that make me very afraid for the next election.
Also history tells us, that those, like Winston Churchill, who early on suggested that Hitler was a bad guy and a threat, were ridiculed.
And the media has so confused the issue that if you don’t pay attention - you really don’t know who the bad guys is. It’s George Bush - It’s Michelle Bachman - It’s Sarah Palin - these people have all been called Hitler.
I think also, the decay of society will hasten these events because at least in the 30’s there was some integrity and morality with the average person.
I know Christians now who live with their “Partner”, never marry, have kids from mulitple people and go to church every Sunday. They look down on me cause I don’t go to church. But all my kids have the same father. I have been married to him for 23 years. I believe in God and know the Bible better than most. Without God we are sunk!
