They won't even debate. They go directly to ad hominem dismissal and attack.

Right, that's exactly what I posted here which must be the reason you have ignored it.

Exactly. As I wrote in post #36, ...

Another post that was completely ignored while they rant on about no one addressing the issues.

Your comments show that you do not understand traditional American foreign policy--which Ron Paul supports. It was never isolationist; but it certainly was not interventionist. That did not prevent Jefferson's teaching the Barbary Pirates a lesson, when they interfered with our shipping.

The basic principle is to treat others with respect; and expect respect back. But we also believed in "punishing the first insult."

For those who are interested, here is Washington's Farewell Address, which sets forth the principles. Or to put the matter into a contemporary perspective, here is the "Debate" I staged by putting George W. Bush's Second Inaugural Address into juxtaposition with the key passages in Washington's address: Washington / Bush Debate.

...depriving Obama of the ignorant pot head, peacenik “youth” vote.

LOL! As if three-war Barry hasn't already shat in that part of his mess kit!

Iran not only funds Hezbollah it spawned Hezbollah in the first place.

Thanks, I have a hard time keeping track of all the lunatic groups in the world.

Seems to me, dealing with Iran would be like cutting off the head of the snake in terms of all the problems in that region.

If we don't, Israel will and that comes with a whole can of worms in its self.

What a mess, obama must be defeated!

As as result, relying on the doctrine of MAD in our relations with them is ...well, quite mad.

Well said.

Reagan had a strong Libertarian streak in him.

Like hell he did. He was a straight up limited government Conservative. The Libertarians despised Reagan. Murry Rothbard, the father of the modern Libertarian movement and Ron Pauls mentor, wrote this on Reagan. It is a hate filled screed on Reagan and his ideals.

"...Reagan is basically a cretin who, as a long-time actor, is skilled in reading his assigned lines and performing his assigned tasks..."

If you recall the '88 election, Paul ran in that race as a protest against Reagan. He hated him. This is from a LA Times interview from May 10, 1988.

“The American people have never reached this point of disgust with politicians before. I want to totally disassociate myself from the Reagan Administration.“

Libertarians are neither Republicans or Conservatives. Just listen to the whacked out answers Paul had in the debate.

“Do you speak for everyone here?”

No i don’t.

Take Romney for instance.
I live in MA. He was voted Governor here in a moonbat state with a 99% Dem statehouse.
Even with all the libs breathing down his back the BUSINESSMAN Romney brought the state back from the brink and left it with a surplus.
Sometimes i wonder if that is EXACTLY what we need right now, Forget the Social idealology at the moment and concentrate on ONE thing, Getting this country back on fisical track.
The social crap can wait.

So, like you i also have unpopular views here on FR.

If only if it wasn’t for Romneycare.....

“traditional American foreign policy—which Ron Paul supports”

Wrong.
Ron Paul doesn't understand the basics of how the world work. He said we brought 911 on ourselves. He said on Thursday night that Iran is not a threat to us.
Ron Paul thinks like many leftists; that we can just stay home; fat and happy; and the world will be fine.
He is completely wrong.

As I said earlier; with his foreign policy; we be asking the Chinese permission to transit the Pacific.
Like it or not; the world is a jungle. The strong survive; the weak are conquered and become footnotes in history.

Everyone of them are career poiticians who will always do whats best for them. Pery clearly change parties whenhe saw that the only way a ‘boy’ form Texas was going to go to the big leagues was in the Republican Party and following the ‘Bush 43’ game plan. Hell Karl Rover won’t have to change a thing in his old playbook to get Perry in just like he got George H in. Romney? He’s Obama ‘white’, he just loves BIG Government. At this point I would be surprised to see a three way race ‘Bammy’,’Hitlery’, ‘Mittins’ and Palin. After which I am sure all hell will break out no matter which one wins.

College students are working in Ron Paul’s campaign.

You’ve got college students working for a pro-Life Republican and that’s STILL not good enough for some people.

Geez

Libertarian conservatismFrom Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

In 1975, Ronald Reagan stated, "I believe the very heart and soul of conservatism is libertarianism"

Libertarians are neither Republicans or Conservatives. Just listen to the whacked out answers Paul had in the debate.

You need to learn the difference between Libertarianism as a Party and as a philosophy.

What 'whacked out answers' did Paul give?

Well, the fact is our options are very limited and we have to recognize that.

There are ways to handle these issues regionally and let the nations around Iran deal with Iran by giving them support to do so.

But Paul is correct in that we have to stop thinking the US can solve every problem in the world-we can't.
