Seventeen (17) things that critics are saying about Rick Perry
Pesky Truth ^ | July 19, 2011 | garnet92

Over the past couple of months Rick Perry has been considering a run for POTUS. As of Thursday, August 11, it looks like the decision has been made and he’s in.

Since he’s been Governor of Texas for over ten years, folks from the other “56 states” are asking Texans what kind of governor he’s been and what we think. I decided that what I “think” isn’t good enough – I could be wrong. So, I decided to do some research on Perry’s record and form a more accurate, fact-based opinion on his qualifications instead of relying on my general perceptions.

In the spirit of full disclosure, I voted for Perry in each of the three gubernatorial elections since 2002 and I am a conservative and a registered Republican. It was easy for me to vote for Perry since the alternative(s) were either uber-RINOs in the primaries or liberal Democrats in the general elections. Under the circumstances, my choice was always easy.

While researching Perry’s pros and cons, I’ve read every article and blog post that I could find – over several weeks. Many of those posts had 2-300 comments associated with them – I read them all.

Sorry, but I still have issues with his stance on illegal immigration, including in-state tuition to children of illegals. We’re going into the primary season. I will not back a candidate who does not take a strong stance on illegal immigration or potential amnesty. What shakes out and what it means for the GOP candidate remains to be seen. But I will not support any GOP candidate in the primaries unless they are strong on immigration.

This is so ridiculous on its surface.

I grew up in India (with second largest population of muslims) and in a city with 45% muslim population. I had friends who were muslims. I find nothing wrong with Perry being supportive of some muslims in the Texas community. Just as I find nothing wrong with the muslim friends I have grown up with that wanted the same freedoms and quality of life as I did.

Perry isn’t Obama and he isn’t Romney, so that would be good enough for me if he gets the nomination.

Yes, well that's certainly a sight I want to pay attention to. /rolleyes . . . Certain to be unbiased and fair. /sarcasm

People who can't defend their own choice of candidate except by smearing other candidates are truly contemptible. I guess you claim to be a Christian, but you sure don't act like one. Isn't bearing false witness against you neighbor wrong?

You are pathetic and you're wrong. Ramadan began on August 1st, not August 6th.

Go peddle your hate somewhere else.

I agree. Anyone who cares about our country will vote “against” obama.
I am tired of these folks who only care about one issue.
Yes, I am pro-life, but really think it should be between a woman, her God, and her doctor. I want the govt out of my private life.
That doesn’t mean I would vote for or against a candidate just because of my being pro-life.
There is no perfect candidate. They all have a wart or two.
ABO=Anyone But Obama!!!!!!!!!

The big missing glare in your article is just how much
have the Moslems contributed to Gov. Perry’s run for President. I have real doubts about him since I read the speech Perry gave to the ‘Texas Moslems’ and how wonderful they are for Texas. It was posted here on Freerepublic.

The cautionamerica.com goes to a link that says" Perry has signed off on a couple pieces of legislation they lobbied for, including halal regulations. (Tuesday August 12, 2003, ceremonial signing session of HB-470 TX Halal Law) Halal (Arabic: حلال‎ ḥalāl, "lawful") is a term designating any object or an action which is permissible to use or engage in, according to Islamic law. The term is used to designate food seen as permissible according to Islamic law (Sharia, الشريعة الإسلامية). The opposite of this word is haraam.

I have a strange feeling that Rick Perry does not equate this to Sharia Law.

Plus, the final line in the article states: "Anyone who aligns with Muslims in any form is a traitor to the free world!"

We can take this site for what it is.

scary...the Gov. skipped his Act for America meetings. We have the Turkish Gulan schools proliferating in TX. on tax-payer dollars. IS HE DOING HIS HOMEWORK?

If Herman Cain makes it to the NC primary I plan on voting for him, that’s the time to show your preferences. When it comes to the election, as you say, ABBO! Thank God I don’t see any McCain’s in this field.

THE BIG AVALANCHE IS ILLEGAL IMMIGRATION.

If they are pro-illegal immigration and pro-amnesty than they are pro-Democrat, no two ways about it. 20 million new uneducated, government dependent "citizens" means 19 million new Democrat voters and the end for the Republican party.

many of the republicans were once democrats.

they abandoned the democrat party as it gradually revealed its true self—socialism.
