SMART METERS: THE NEW SILENT KILLERS (Part 1 of 2)
Liberty News ^ | September 2, 2011 | Staff

Posted on 09/02/2011 6:41:06 PM PDT by yorkie

“The electromagnetic field is the perfect secret agent: you cannot see it, you cannot smell it, you cannot hear it, and its effects are slow but relentless.” -By Volter Hertenstein, MP Bavarian Parliament

I ask NWVs to post this column on a Friday because it does require many hours of reading to fully understand the issue. By necessity, this new column is two parts as I'm trying, as I did in my first column, to put as much credible information all together in one place to make it easier for everyone fighting this new silent killer. We're all pressed for time. Thank you to everyone who sent in reference material in our efforts to share the truth and what we can do to stop this madness.

There is a major war being waged in this country, although you'd never know it by the silence from the old, disgraced media (ABC, CBS, NBC) and all the cable "news" networks. This new assault on our bodies and privacy is over another relatively new piece of technology that allegedly will save energy; it will also cost tens of thousands of jobs for meter readers. When I say millions of Americans are up in arms over this, I am not exaggerating.

If you are unfamiliar with this issue, please read my first column first on this to get a full understanding of how dangerous those 'smart meters' are and why you don't want one on your home or business.

I just signed a petition to ban this 'smart meter' in my city. I am APALLED at the dangers! (Not to mention the "Invasion of Privacy", covered by the Fourteenth Amendment to our Constitution!)

I know the article is long - but please read it all - you will be shocked at what is happening to our very homes, today!

I’m surprised the AG in CT is against them. I remember back in late July during the big heat wave, people who had them were complaining that it kept their AC off for hours at a time, making the house get into the mind to upper 80’s.

I think that was people who take a discount for interruptible service complaining that their service was interrupted.

There’s been one of these on my house for quite a few years now.
I can’t seem to remember if it is on the gas or electric.
I would go look but it’s dark outside and the boogy-man might get me.

There are a good many people who think EMFs are bad for your health.

However, we are subjected to all kinds of EMFs and broadband wireless signals all the time. As wireless networks and other wireless tech grows in popularity, there is more and more of it.

Unless somebody can explain why, I don’t understand why smart meters should be considered more dangerous than similar radiation from other sources.

Belief in the Constitution as written makes a person right-wing, by today's definition.

“Smart” meter radiation is now categorized as a class 2b carcinogen in the same cancer causing category as lead, DDT, and engine exhaust.

Sounds to me like this is the same old environmental balderdash the liberals have been selling since the 60s.

The author appears to be confused about the difference between AMR meters and ‘smart meters’. That notwithstanding, AMR meters emit no more EMF then WiFi - since it is basically WiFi. I am opposed to ‘smart meters’ but have no problem with AMR meters.

I am three feet from my wireless router as I type this. Has THAT made me more ill lately? Nope.

In fact, I've had a "smart" meter at my house in Sacramento from SMUD for over a year (originally a shorter-range version, but now with a new one with more accurate readings) and I haven't gotten ill lately.

Having so called smart meters is a good thing, Utilities have been replacing and out sourcing meter readers for 10 years. It saves the utility money and should provide the customer with more knowledge and control of their power usage. What shouldn't be done it funding the transition to smart meters with tax money.

BTW do you use a cell phone, or do you have wireless wifi or blue tooth connection(s)in your home? Do you have a automatic garage door opener? If you do, what the heck are you complaining about?

The "smart meters" are "smart" only to the extent that they cut your power consumption and save you money during peak periods.

Her'es the risk ~ they turn off when you need stuff on.

We had a high speed modem set up to run on a closed network between a building in downtown DC and our building in the Alexandria suburbs.

Every day about 1 PM the modem would shut down. It'd come back on about 6 PM.

Obviously you can't do work with your modem doing that, so we got a new one. Alas, same thing. Off 5 hours a day ~ during peak period ~ and no connection to the network we needed to do work.

One day I was reading a news story at lunch and it was about "smart meters" ~ the power company had bought a bunch of them and were going to experiment with them. They wanted volunteers.

The meter brand was named ~ lo and behold they made my modem. A little more research revealed it was the same modem design and capability I had my network connection on.

The power company simply ginned a signal over the power lines to trigger the modems to turn off the power to the ACs or waterheaters.

That also triggered a built in timer (probably on one of the chips) to cut the power to the modem (and run on battery only for several hours).

I ordered new modems that operated differently IMMEDIATELY.

The problem in the power company approach was that everything was ONE WAY. They interrupted the power, but could not restart it for an individual device. You just had to wait for the clock to order a restart.

The system was not terribly popular in this area.

Thanks for the ping. Just out of curiosity, and because I do have one of them, is the wifi that is used on the meters any different from the router that I have used for my laptops for the past 6 years?

....or worse than keeping a cell phone plastered to your ear for hours like some folks do (who are completely rude!)?

I’m not trying ot be “horsy”...I am puzzled and uninformed. :)

Everything in modern life is killing us. Chemicals, radiation, stress, etc. That’s the meme.

But for some odd reason we keep living longer. That’s one of the few ways we have of directly and accurately comparing human health today to that of the past.

I suspect some people may be affected by EMFs while most are not.

PG&E came on to my property and installed one when my wife and I were at work. No prior permission or any type of correspondence whatsoever. They just did it and to hell with what I thought about it!

There is only one antidote to the EMF. Chew on aluminum foil - particularly where you have fillings. That sensation is the bad EMF force being purged from your body. If you don't have fillings not sure what you do.
