The E-Cat Story: An Unusual Tale (Andrea Rossi & Cold Fusion)
E-Cat World ^ | 09/11/2011

Reflecting on the story of Andrea Rossi and the E-Cat that has been developing over the course of the year I cannot help but think about how unusual it has been (and continues to be). It really is an affair that seems to be without precedent in the modern technological age; here are some of the unusual aspects of the story that occur to me. 1. The Inventor claims he has found a new and much improved way to create energy, but will not submit his research in any scientific journal, choosing to let the marketplace validate the reality of his invention rather than the scientific community. 2. In January, Andrea Rossi and Sergio Focardi hold a press conference in which the E-Cat is demonstrated. Over time qualified, respected scientists such as Guiseppe Levi, Christos Stremmenos, Hanno Essen and Sven Kullander state that Rossi has discovered a new form of nuclear reaction. The mainstream media and scientific press pay almost no attention at all.

Bring it on. It will either work (as promised) or not. I’m all for giving the Arabs the finger.

It all sounds too good to be true, and we all know how that usually works out.....

If it actually works, the Greenies will be against it because it actually produces energy and interferes with their control over the country. Watch for people like Al Gore to throw a fit.

Major governments throughout the world kept secret the fact that anthrax infection could be successfully treated with CIPRO.

I can only guess that the idea was to put the terrorists to work figuring out how to "do anthrax" ~ an infinite do-loop ~ until they finally figured out it wasn't all that easy to handle.

Finally, we have an anthrax attack, it's cipro all around, and a handful of people die (although several thousand now have loose teeth ~ a secondary effect of cipro).

So it is with the Hot Fusion crowd who have their hooks in major governments world wide. If this stuff works THEY DON'T GET ANY MORE GRANTS.

So, is Br'r Rossi simply paranoid because he really does have enemies, or is he just paranoid and not onto anything at all.

Fur shur you can't trust the hot fusion guys ~ they want EVERYBODY to think any advances in atomic energy development are too expensive and difficult for anyone but major governments ~ and that's what they're paid to do ~ and what they are, in fact, doing.

We probably won't know until the e-cat and its cheap imitations are rolled out on the market for public evaluation.

Edison probably thought his light-bulbs were too hot to touch.

Excellent point about the anthrax. Perhaps the only good thing to come out of that attack is that treatment is a great deal more effective, if started in time, than we had previously thought.

Kinda’ like getting a grant to help prove man-made global warming. Lot’s of money is available for the “right” theory.

I heard that the units themselves will be reasonably priced, but they’ll take you to the cleaners for the unicorn fart energy refill cartridges.

The big test is due in October, so perhaps this is a Democrat October surprise, where Obama and his science genius energy czar Steven Chu announce to the world that they have solved the energy problem.

Chu was reported to have met with cold fusion folks back in June of this year.

I'm getting increasingly bored with the hype. Either Rossi demonstrates a working model of at least 1MW capacity in October (preferably 1MW electric rather than just thermal), or he should be ignored until he does.

The Journal of Nuclear Physics (the name of Rossi's blog) doesn't count?

She *can't* win. Besides, she endorsed Perry. /hijack>

oops, wrong thread! ;-)

Cheers!
