Not certain if Warner would dare release something like this nowadays in our PC world for fear of being dealt the race card. Indeed, since Allan Sherman was Jewish it would almost certainly be tagged as a Zionist plot.

Murdoch is a very tough player and is certainly not perfect. But what might initially appear to be a storm in an English media teacup is part of an Anglo-American liberal left media msm elite plot to emasculate Fox News in the US and protect the BBC TV news monopoly in the UK

Good but not anywhere near as good as "Hello Muddah ..." ode to the wonders of Camp Granada. A great camp camp song!

I loved those old Jewish comedians, in particular Myron Cohen. Self deprecating humor is the best kind.

The other side of his 45rpm of Hello Muddah was a nifty little ditty named Here's to the Crabgrass which was a parody of In an English Garden. I had enough money to buy an Elvis or R&R 45rpm but took the Alan Sherman 45 instead.

A classic - my mom used to laugh every time she heard it. She loved Shelly Berman too.
Just think of all the great comedians back then, and not one of them used a four letter word.

and Shelly Berman, Mort Sahl, etc. They were very much of their time. It’s fun to watch the old clips. It gives a glimpse into what things were like then.

Just think of all the great comedians back then, and not one of them used a four letter word.

It was a different world and culture. I will not blame the obvious targets like Redd Fox and the others but instead the society that coarsened to accept such language. It was one thing that even the great comics had, two routines, one for the daytime and family shows and the other for the late night and adult-only audiences.

I think that the divide was in the late 60-70s era when the TV, Radio and Movie execs thought that they had to get 'Hip' and allow the "cutting edge" humor that grew with the riots and anti-war crowd. Now even very good comics seem to be unable to have a routine that I could not watch without wincing. A SHAME!

"Wonder what ever happened to him."

His brand of parody , oddly enough, died with JFK. Somehow, it just wasn't funny any more.

He died of emphysema, coupled with diabetes, and severely overweight, at home in West Hollywood ten days before his 49th birthday, November 20, 1973.
