Let us look a 8 reasons why the Great Depression is the best case scenario and also look at how difficult the Depression was for people who were far more prepared to deal with a harsh world.
Back during the Depression most of America could feed themselves with farming, now we only know corporate frankenfood. Back then people only knew of real wealth, now we think the digits in our brokerage account in wealth. Back then people had a strong family on community support systems, now we live little lives of narcissism. Back then people had a strong spiritual strength, now we have chemically induced denial. Back then people were of fit body and strong mind, now we are obese and willfully ignorant. Back then people had a classical education to help them figure things out, now we wait for answers. Back then people had a real economy, now we have a consumer/debt economy. Back then people did physical activity for fun, now we have entertainment that turns us in to mental and physical mush.

Remember, in 1979-1980 we were suffering from a major economic malaise like now, and everybody said the USA has seen its best days. But yet, when Ronald Reagan became President, the enactment of a number of major tax reforms got the economy going again, so by the middle of 1984 the US economy was really booming.
We can do it again by streamlining the size of government and doing the biggest reforms of our tax code since the passage of the 16th Amendment--things that President Obama would NEVER do.

People really, really, really do not want to see the truth:
America will collapse, if we continue sending our jobs offshore.
China alone, has 4 times America’s population. That means China alone, could absorb EVERY SINGLE JOB IN AMERICA. And not even be at 25% employment.
“Free trade” is the problem. Not a solution.
Commence the trade war.
Remember H. Ross Perot warned about the “giant sucking sound”.
Perot was right.
My husband’s grandmother came here in a covered wagon, his grandfather was a farmer and a rancher, same with his parents, same with him and now with our son. He learned to do everything the old fashioned way and I trust him to handle anything. I always tell everyone that I married my common sense.
I am planning and have provisions for when the real SHTF but I know that he could handle it if I hadn’t. Most of my relatives have said that they are coming to our place when it happens.
The elite are feasting on the dead corpse of America but soon they’ll be on the menu as well.
America is heading for dead corpse status AS A RESULT of “free trade”.
We can stop that process, with a real trade policy.
“Free trade” is not a trade policy. It is treason.
We now know better, and with streamlined government size and regulations and a far more business-friendly taxation structure, you will see a land rush of jobs coming back to the USA. Most people would laugh at that suggestion, but consider the following:
1. China may have to "float" the Yuan, and that could send their labor costs soaring.
2. The increasing cost of transportation could erode the advantages of Chinese production, especially since some of their biggest export markets--namely the USA and Europe--are no longer cheap to ship finished goods to (diesel fuel and jet fuel ain't cheap anymore!).
I think we fundamentally disagree.
Taxes are at a historical low for the top 20% and for Multinational Corporations...So where are the jobs?
With major income tax reform like the Forbes flat tax plan or take it even further with the FairTax replacement for the income tax, we no longer need to engage in these time and money-wasting activities anymore. Companies can now spent more time maximizing profits, not getting the lowest tax burden.
Yep. As I said back when about the 'service economy', we aren't going to be able to make a living scrubbing each other's toilets.
At some point, wealth has to be created. Mine it, refine it, manufacture finished goods, and create wealth. That goes for everything from almonds to Zinc, and beyond.
The first monkey to get off our economic back is the gorilla the EPA and associated anti-industry industries have become. Yes, there are reasonable regulations the industry--and people can live with, but moving target standards which never say anything is 'clean enough' are not the ticket to industrial prosperity.
Quit snapping up land at the Federal level, and instead open up the resources America has to be used wisely instead of locked away to rot on the stump.
Careful stewardship means the preservation of dynamic systems, not maintaining (or trying in vain to maintain) static snapshots of those systems. Trees sprout, mature, grow old, and die. If cut in their prime they are a resource which can be replaced by new plantings. If not, they become the fuel base for the next devastating wildfire.
We need to quit subsidizing poverty, too, where people make a career guiding multiple generations through the process of living off the productive, and stress freedom from dependency. A lot will change--it will have to--before we can pull out of the slump that America is in, we have far to go, and RINOs and Liberals aren't going to get us there.
