Mitt Romney remains the unquestioned frontrunner in New Hampshire, according to a pair of recent polls, but Atlanta businessman Herman Cain appears to be gaining ground as his top challenger.

Mr. Romney, a part-time New Hampshire resident and the former governor of neighboring Massachusetts, retains a commanding perch as the favorite candidate of many Granite State Republicans, with support from 38% of likely primary voters, according to a poll conducted earlier this month by Harvard University and St. Anselm College.

Mr. Cain finished second, with 20%, a finding in line with national polls that show his candidacy gaining steam.

A survey done by WMUR and the University of New Hampshire also put Mr. Cain in second place, with 12%, behind Mr. Romney’s 37%.

I did not catch your nuance for “performance.” I stand corrected. Thanks for clarifying.

Personally I’m glad to see RINO Ricardo Perry fall. But it’s true that Cain is going to end up as Romney’s VP.

Because we didn’t get behind Bachmann or Palin, there are no real conservatives left running.

Herman Cain is running to be POTUS. Believe that or not that’s you right, but let me repoint out what I pointed out before:Herman Cain who truly was a virtual unknown had faith enough in himself to decide to run for President of the United States on his own. There was no Media hype/pressure/build-up about a possible run, there was no urging by members of the Party, no words spoken into his ear by party players, elites or pundits, not even a word of encouragement from the Republican Party of his home state only faith in himself. Now after months of being treated as being a inconsequential candidate the curious sideshow of a conservative black Republican, he is now in the top tier along with people of great party pull, of men with experienced political machines and the dollars to power them. He did that on his own with no help from anyone. Now think what a man with faith in himself like that could accomplish if given the chance.
