Earthquake? Governor Palin Changes Facebook Status From ‘Republican’ to ‘Conservative’
Conservatives4Palin ^ | Friday October 14, 2011

Ok guys … Is this just a minor thing? Or a big deal? I’ll let you speculate on what it means ….

Here’s the news reported by the Sarah Palin Blog:

I was walking through the grocery store earlier today when I received a text message from a close friend asking me if I had taken note of the change on Sarah Palin’s Facebook page.  I confessed that it had been an exceptionally busy day and that I had not looked at Palin’s page today.  My friend then brought to my attention that under the “Info” link, Palin’s political views have been changed from “Republican” to “Conservative”.  For a brief moment, it didn’t phase me as I am also a registered Republican but I chose to list “Conservative” on my Facebook page as my own political view because in my eyes, it more aptly describes my values.

I suppose one could draw a multitude of conclusions regarding this status change. I know that I certainly have. You can be certain that any move Sarah Palin makes has been well thought out and is with purpose.  Could she possibly be sending a message to the RNC that they need to strengthen the conservative planks of the Republican party?  Perhaps her promise of “sudden and  relentless reform” as addressed in her Indianola speech and more recently in her October 7th St. Louis speech is a sign that as in the past, neither party is safe from her scrunity.

One thing is for sure, time will tell.

That is exactly how I see myself, too.

Do people still take Sarah seriously...following her every move as if she has some brilliant master plan that will ultimately be unveiled to save the country?

Don't know if this is true or not, waiting to hear her words.

But I sure as hell can understand why.

The only reason I'm still a Republican is so I can vote for a tea party backed conservative Republicans in primaries.......The only reason!

“I like Cain, but he simply has not been vetted.”

Define ‘vetted’.

The man has had a public talk show that put it all on the line for five straight years. Anything you could possibly want to know about him is out there for you to see/hear. Nobody is more of an open book.

What more do you want? What would make him properly ‘vetted’ in you eyes? (I know it sounds like I’m being sarcastic and snappish, but it’s a genuine question.)

“Also the MSM pollsters are pushing him just as they pushed all the others for a time. They are only messing with us, trying to pick our candidate.”

From what you wrote, it looks to me that anyone who’s ahead in the polls are being pushed onto us by the MSM. Am I reading that wrong?

The fact is, the MSM hates Cain.

“Why has he raised such little money?”

People only back potential winners. Until he took the Florida Straw poll, he was liked, but ‘couldn’t win’. As soon as had some advantage, people jumped all over him.

The presidential campaign funds are only counted every quarter (3 months). In the last *week* of the third quarter (right after the straw poll) he took in what he’d taken in for the entire second quarter. ($2.5 million dollars)

I’m sure that it’s more now. He’s only begun to surge. We won’t know until the fourth quarter funds are counted and submitted.

In the end the establishment republicans can go join their friends in the democrat party where they belong.

Ditto.

Renaissance Hotel bar room in Hollywood at the same time across town, Odumbo visited L.A. You know where it is, Ms. ex-West L.A. refugee :)

well hell. Now I really wish I'd been there. :) You know it would have taken me like five hours to get home because the Kenyan kid blocked the damn traffic. Good memory max americana.

Oh if only they could read some of our posts. haha. Although I get the impression you are a man of strong opinions in the real world too. So probably no surprises there.

I went over to a business contact's house for a job the other day (in the arts) and front & center on the console was a picture of the Obama family all smiling. God I almost spewed the coffee from my mouth. These libs are just whacked!!!

I really respect the person artistically and they are very accomplished, but all I could think was what a complete, utter idiot and a true embarrassment for him. I choked back the words, "Are you kidding me? A picture of the Obamas on your entry console? Lord help us all!!!"

I’m confused. Isn’t one reason why she’s not running is that we have so many wonderful GOP candidates in the race, that it wasn’t necessary for her to jump in? So, if she was fine with calling herself a Republican a few days ago and is fine with whoever the nominee is, why does she no longer want to be called a Republican?

I have heard that he is running a VERY lean campaign. Someone mentioned his book tour (which Karl rove just couldn’t understand ) was on the publishers dime.

By some miracle, against all the talking heads advice he is still surging.
He has been doing a national campaign.

How is he UP in Iowa, south Carolina and Florida?
He is running HIS campaign. He is a bright man and just like he would govern, he is not following past models of campaigning.

With that said, we do need to send him money. Most of us supporting him are of the 53% who pay the taxes hence are the ones who have little left after payday. Please send him something. 5 or 10 dollars when you can

His speech today in Memphis. Please give him your attention; many of us are. Could it be he is the natural Tea Party candidate? I have a strong suspicion that the answer is yes.

She shouldn’t and won’t run 3rd party, but on the other hand, the threat of a 3rd party run from her might knock some sense into the Republican establishment.

Sarah may have felt that for the GOP, the current crop was acceptable. Any one of them would be better than OBlame0. Still, would they be best for America?

Some have plans to revive America. One has twelve ways, another has 59. Another has 23 foster children. And then there's 999. But, America has a new problem: The Occupy Wall Street astroturf event orchestrated by the Communists Among Us attempting counter/nullify/cancel the TEA Party.

I'm an SOB and can go straight to hell while getting my 'ass kicked' by a Chicago thug (was thinking about Daley, but OBlameO works too). Now, unfortunately it'll likely be a park dwelling Wall Street protester who wishes to lay his smelly hands on me. But, I'm not taking the bait. And I'll carry a bar of soap.

For some, government is the solution and Wall Street is the problem. For others, government is the problem and Wall Street (and Main Street) are getting screwed which means recent graduates may not find a job- soon.

It doesn't take a f()king genius to know where jobs come from and it ain't government..unless..society is so doing so well that it can absorb the cost of phony government workers, and their benefits, and their pensions. Need I go on?

What I love about Palin detractors are their gap-toothed attempts to smear a woman who almost single-handedly defeated Obama- even with the on-going attacks on herself and her family while running with the biggest across-the-aisle faux conservative since Romney.

What conservatives need to remember is that regardless what the media says, the problems we face don't come from Wall Street but from 1600 Pennsylvania Ave. Slappin' Sarah around may make some feel better about themselves but it embarrasses me.

Absolutely agree 100%. I have been telling people for years that I am a Conservative first, and a republican 2nd, and only because most of the time the republican candidate believes more of what I do.
If I thought we could break away from the establishment wusses right now, successfully, I would bolt the party also.
Perhaps, she and Bachmann are going to endorse Cain tomorrow, because the see the establishment about to gang up on the only true “Tea Party Conservative” left in the race.
It would, as Bachmann put it, “fire up this race”.

“If I could register as a Conservative, I’d drop the Republican party like a bad habit.”

I bet it shocks the hell out of people when I tell them you can do just that here in....

Certainly, Washington has shown itself to be incapable of reform from the inside, regardless of which party is in power.

THis is why Tweedle-dum and Tweedle-dee are equally horrified at the prospect of Herman Cain, even as they were horrified by Sarah Palin. It only makes sense to promote pressure from the grass roots and from outside the Beltway to create change for the better.
