Even tiny stations do.
The FBI has to much funding if they feel they need to spend half a million dollars on this stuff.

The only way this could conceivably be “potential evidence” is if the FBI was pretty sure it had the ability to track down the identity of “Mike from Pittsburg.”

It’s great drama when Hochner asks that big fat girl to check somebody’s complete background including phone records, phone recordings, credit card transactions, though, isn’t it?
I suggest the term “fufibby” (FUFBI).
Example:
“Hey, dittos Rush and fufibby. I just wanted to make a point about our First Amendment rights being attacked under the current administration...”
