Free Republic has been hearing from the Cold Fusion Seagulls all about how Andrea Rossi supposedly went to jail for fraud. It is not true. Here is the story, as represented by Steven Krivit, who is in enmity with Rossi. So it is a good place to find the set of facts that both sides can agree on.

This story is by Rossi himself. It is not by Krivit.

The links lead to ingandrearossi.net, which would be one of Andrea Rossi's websites, no?

Can you explain how Krivit figures into this particular material?

It doesn’t matter: the thing works, or it doesn’t. And if it does work, it wouldn’t matter if it was invented by Joe Isuzu himself.

This certainly puts a different spin on Rossi’s “troubles” with the law.

The Official Hagiography as told by the man himself. A copy will accompany every purchase of the E-Cat Shipping Container Hot Water/Steam/Cold Fusion Generator.

Hilarious! Kensington University again! The fact that it’s a diploma mill that was shut down by the law doesn’t seem to appear in this account you posted. Wonder why not?

***Krivit is Rossi’s enemy. Do you have some problem with what he posted about Rossi’s arrest record?

It’s always interesting to see what someone’s enemies acknowledge about a person.

F’rinstance, yes Columbus was a cultural imperialist, but he did sail the ocean in 1492 and “discovered” something the Europeans had no idea about.

Most likely Krivit simply has Rossi’s hagiography by Andrea Rossi on his site for archival purposes.

Dude. Figure it out. This was posted by one of Rossi’s enemies. What does it take to get one of you seagulls to think rationally?

Because it is not relevant. Even to one of Rossi’s enemies.

Duuuude. It was authored and copyrighted by Rossi and the only the only other names appearing on the English translation are: Thanks to Janet Zagoria James Gordon Everett and Roy Tanck

So duuuude, which one is Rossi’s enemy and where are they called such? and who cares what Rossi says he did, even that is questionable......duuuuude.

Krivit has a strong interest in LENR. He told Rossi directly on his site that he was only interested in whether the ecat was for real (I guess Krivit now believes that is not.). Krivit said he would ignore Rossi's past.

For other people who want to prevent people losing their money to a fraud, Rossi's background, including his arrests, his fake degree, his tirades, and other odd behavior are relevant.

I can’t hear you for the silence. Where does any part of the story or the links mention this Steve person? The story in Italian is copyrighted by Rossi so an “enemy” is going to be allowed to copy it?

And precisely why are you posting this? Next week “The Big Test” will take place (in private) and after that you can order your very own “Big Blue”.

[...] Asked on his website about Krivit’s report, Rossi has had strong words. He believes that they have indeed thoroughly reported on the water-in-steam issue and that Krivit has been unfair in his reporting and questioning. In the larger picture, Rossi reiterates that he is not interested in getting into any validation in the public arena: “Now I have to make my 1 MW plant, then we will make other 1 MW plants for our Customers. That’s all we will do. Our Customers tests are the sole tests that count, for us. Therefore, I have absolutely not time for competitors anxious to test my Cat to make their “validation”.
