Justice Department Sues South Carolina Feds Say Pushing Out Illegals "Simply Not a Solution"

By William L. Houston

This come as no real surprise: the Justice Department has filed a lawsuit against South Carolina to block its new immigration law.

Eric Holder's lawyers are claiming that the South Carolina law directly conflicts with federal immigration law. In reality, it only conflicts with the unwillingness of the White House which is controlled by the Democratic Party to deport Hispanic illegal aliens. They want them to stay, give them amnesty, and redistribute the wealth of taxpayers to them.

Washington, DC can be a sanctuary city. Utah can enter into a foreign alliance with the Mexican state of Nuevo Leon. California can ban E-Verify. Maryland can pass the DREAM Act.

But the Justice Department has to sue Arizona, Alabama, and South Carolina for trampling upon the so-called "authority" of the federal government. Surely, the Justice Department and ACLU strategy will be to find some liberal federal judge who will peer into the Constitution and discover that Washington is not obligated to enforce its own laws and discharge its own constitutional responsibilities to protect the states from foreign invasions.

“Pushing undocumented individuals out of one state and into another is simply not a solution to our immigration challenges,” said Assistant Attorney General Tony West.

U.S. District Judge Richard Gergel will be hearing the case. He was appointed to the federal bench by Barack Hussein Obama.

Beyond Gergel, the Fourth Circuit Court of Appeals has 5 federal judges that have been appointed by Obama, 4 that have been appointed by George W. Bush, 3 by Bill Clinton, 1 by Ronald Reagan, and 1 by George H.W. Bush.

Ultimately, the fate of these Arizona-style immigration laws is to go before the U.S. Supreme Court or die trying to make it there. Everything else is just the pregame show.

Arizona has already appealed SB 1070 to the Supreme Court. There is a better than average chance that the Supreme Court will take the case. In June, the Supreme Court rejected a legal challenge to the California DREAM Act, but in May upheld Arizona's E-Verify law and unblocked Hazelton's immigration ordinance.

The Justice Department can complain about a "patchwork of state laws" not being the solution to our broken immigration system, but that appears to be the new standard the Supreme Court is taking on the issue.

Youth for Western Civilization was incorporated in 2006 and began actively organizing in 2008. The founder was Kevin DeAnna, a graduate student at American University.

While some events were held in the fall of 2008, Youth for Western Civilization first came to public attention in the spring of 2009 by hosting speakers such as Congressman Tom Tancredo, Bay Buchanan and Congressman Virgil Goode. Events were held at campuses around the country including: American University, Vanderbilt University, the University of North Carolina and Providence College.

Since then, Youth for Western Civilization has stirred up debate on controversial issues like illegal immigration, multiculturalism and classical education that were thought to be driven off college campuses. YWC stands alone in challenging the dogmatic left-wing orthodoxy of American higher education.

Youth for Western Civilization is a 501c(3) non-profit educational foundation. All contributions are tax deductible.
