It’s happening: Democratic lawmakers say Fast and Furious proof of need for harsher gun laws

Right on cue, Democratic lawmakers have begun to say the DOJ’s lethal and irresponsible Fast and Furious program underscores the need for stricter gun control laws:

“This hunt for blame doesn’t really speak about the problem,” said Sen. Dianne Feinstein at a recent Senate Judiciary hearing while discussing Fast and Furious.

“And the problem is, anybody can walk in and buy anything, .50-caliber weapons, sniper weapons, buy them in large amounts, and send them down to Mexico. So, the question really becomes, what do we do about this?”

The ranking Democrat on the House Oversight and Government Reform Committee, Rep. Elijah Cummings (Md.), and Rep. Carolyn Maloney (D-N.Y.) have introduced a dedicated firearms trafficking statute, but it has stalled in the House Judiciary Committee.

Republicans rightly have pushed back against this narrative. Rep. Trey Gowdy (R-S.C.) put it best when he said simply, “I get it, I’d want to change the subject too if I were them. I’m happy to have a conversation about broader gun laws, but we’re going to do it after Fast and Furious.”

What’s most troubling about Democrats’ predictable call for tightening of regulations is that it does nothing to dispel the theory that Fast and Furious was orchestrated precisely to “prove” the need to clamp down on gun sellers and purchasers. Rather, it lends credence to the idea.

They seem confident that they can get away with it and the way things are going they are probably right.

Since over 150 million, perhaps 200 million if you count Soviet gulag deaths, The BEST thing you could do to protect people is eliminate communists, socialists and progressives. I suggest a giant toilet that could hold at least 100 of them and then let freedom lovers pay say $10 per flush to pay. I think a lot of past debt could be paid for and future deficit could be eliminated.

I think you are wrong. I think it will be their death warrant when gun owners realize that they only have to eliminate 1-2 of the communists to make them all gone vs. being rounded up and killed in reeducation camps.

A well regulated militia being necessary to the security of a free state, the right of the people to REQUEST and purchase annual permits to keep and bear arms shall not be infringed in every situation.

Sorry but that turd will not stick to the wall. Looks like the RATs are scurrying into another dark hole.

You bet they're scurrying.

This is just another complicit Dem, spinning the usual leftoid mumbo-jumbo, in order to cover their collective asses. Even the presstitutes who took Feinstein's statement should have openly laughed at her pretzel logic. It's that bad.

Let me guess: These people claim we are morally bound to submit to their tax system?

But of course. All rights of the people flow from government, don'tcha know. The law is what Washington says it is.

Not gonna happen this time. This cat is way out of the bag, and there's no way to get him back in. All of the major media are now reporting on the scandal, and Issa's coming on like a pit bull.

Someone's gonna go down for this.

What to do?

Break out the gallows and gather up Holder and gang!

Actually, for intentionally and flagrant violation of their respective oaths of office to uphold The Constitution and that they obviously NEVER intended to abide by any part of that oath and the horrific nature and breadth of the premeditated crimes to permanently deprive all American Citizens of several aspects of their unalienable rights, I would suggest something with a bit more "impact."

Let's set up a rather large, well lit area with HD TV cameras and ready to broadcast live-for-pay, all proceeds going to pay down the National Debt and as the perpetrators are found guilty by public trial we treat all that have suffered through their tyranny with some real justice.

After 20-30 weekly "episodes" the number of smirking communist agenda "liberals" would not only be going down, their collective IQ should be going up slightly.

>Can you imagine the damage they would have done by now, if the Republicans hadn’t taken the House back last year?

But the Republican-party is, as a whole, doing jack about stuff. And before you think that the party is “on our side” consider NY-23.

>I shudder to think what sort of totalitarian laws would have been foisted upon the American people, if we hadn’t “headed them off at the pass.”

Many signs are pointing to a second civil-war; I don’t know that it would be preferable to put it off for the next generation, who will likely have realized that their parents and grand-parents sold them into slavery.
