CAIN [50%], GINGRICH [23%] WIN STRAW POLL at Florida Tea Party Convention Debate, Nov. 6 in Daytona

GOP Presidential Candidates Herman Cain and Newt Gingrich won the Straw Poll at the Florida Tea Party Convention Presidential Candidates Debate on Sunday, Nov. 6, 2011 in Daytona Beach, Florida.

Finishing third and fourth were Michele Bachmann and Rick Santorum, after a heavy turnout of voting among thousands of attendees representing more than 100 Tea Party groups throughout Florida, the first large state conducting primary elections which likely will be impacted by the surprise surge of the new Tea Party second choice favorite, Newt Gingrich.

Debate moderator and American Thinker columnist C. Edmund Wright, commented at the conclusion of the convention and debate, saying, “Our debate format challenged conventional wisdom, and the results here and elsewhere show that 2012 will be anything but conventional. It's interesting that the two candidates who have continued to focus on Obama and liberalism instead of attacking each other are the two candidates that are now surging.

Wright added, “I've always thought the winner of this race would be the candidate who would best lay out a vision for victory over Obama in 2012 and recovery starting in 2013. The Florida debate was framed through that template. And the Florida results, like others, are demonstrating that this is indeed the case.”

Convention co-sponsor, Dan Weber of Association of Mature American Citizens (AMAC), was not surprised by Cain finishing in first place but was quite impressed by enormous popularity of Newt Gingrich with the Tea Party assembly, saying, "Newt said if his energy initiatives are done he will lower the price of gas below $2 a gallon. I hope our Seniors on fixed incomes to be able to buy gas at that rate.”

Saying Cain and Gingrich won is misleading.

The actual numbers are here:

Florida Tea Party Straw Poll - Nov. 6 (Cain 50%, Gingrich 23%)

I love me some Cain. I’ve sent him money. I fully support him.

Having said that ... straw polls mean nothing.

Get back to me after a couple primaries and caucuses.

They would be the best team we could have in any order..wise to the ways of the government and business savy and the nads to beat Obamma to a pulp with direct” potus you lying slut” references to the imposter in chief...
Would love to see Obamma label Cain as a racist, and watch the smackdown that would occur to this lying dweeb from hell..

Newt is like a diesel, not so fast off the line, but steadily builds up tons of torque. I can hardly wait for the Newt vs the usurper debates on prime time.

4 bottles of candidates on the wall, 4 bottles of candidates.

If the Cain Bottle happens to fall, 3 bottles of candidates on the wall.

3 bottles of candidates on the wall, 3 bottles of candidates.

If the Gingrich Bottle happens to fall, 2 bottles of candidates on the wall.

2 bottles of candidates on the wall, 2 bottles of candidates.

If the Ron Paul Bottle happens to fall, 1 bottle of candidates on the wall.

1 bottle of candidates on the wall, 1 bottles of candidates.

If the Perry Bottle happens to fall, there's no bottle of candidates on the wall.

And we will be left with R****y, the choice of the MSM and Chris Matthews, and he will be the GOP nominee.

Cain drew 50% for first place, followed by Gingrich with 23%. Runnerups included Ron Paul, 6%, Michele Bachmann, 5%, Mitt Romney and Rick Santorum, 4% each, Rick Perry, 2% and Jon Huntsman, 0%.

My apologies if I was misleading saying Cain and Gingrich won the Straw Poll. While they did capture 1st and 2nd place respectively, they certainly weren’t tied as my statement might have implied. But they were far ahead of the rest of the pack which leads me to believe than there might be a Cain-Gingrich pairing for November.
