Nightmare Scenario: President Ron Paul
My undying opposition to whack job Ron Paul | 11/8/11 | Alan Levy

Posted on 11/08/2011 2:35:10 PM PST by Absolutely Nobama

In an alternate universe........

President Paul entered the White House Situation Room in a huff. It was about 4pm, and he was cranky. Everyone knew not to disturb President Paul during Judge Judy, but this was a national security emergency. The CIA now had definitive proof that the Islamic Republic of Iran had placed intercontinental ballistic missiles in Venezuela.

"Mr. President," began Major General Major, the Commandant of the Marine Corps and Chairman of the Joint Chiefs of Staff. "The Iranians have placed ICBM's on the northern coast of Venezuela. We're not sure about the capabilities of these weapons of mass destruction, but we have confirmation that they could reach Miami if launched. I recommend we strike now. We can scramble the bombers immediately."

President Paul smiled kindly at Major General Major. He forgot all about having his Judge Judy time interrupted and his mind wandered back to how much fun he and the media had after Major General James Major became Chairman of the Joint Chiefs of Staff. "Major General Major....has a ring to it...." President Paul said to himself softly.

"Sir ?'

"Back off, fascist!" Chief of Staff Lew Rockwell screamed at the decorated war hero. "Can't you see a great man is thinking ?!"

"Enhance your calm, Lew," said Vice President Dennis Kucinich in a kindly voice."That yelling and screaming stuff was okay when the Zionists ran the place, but the White House is a place of understanding now. It's a place where we exchange ideas and hope, not hate and animosity."

"You're right, Mr. Vice President. I don't know what came over me."

President Paul looked over to his Secretary of Defense, Jesse Ventura. "What's going on here, Jesse ?"

"I dunno, Mr. President", shrugged Ventura. "I've been trying to get a hold of National Security Advisor [Alex] Jones all day. I know he's very busy with his fourth 9/11 investigation, but why this guy can't answer a text is beyond me."

Secretary of State Pat Buchanan stood up from his chair. "Mr. President, If I may," the old paleoconservative began. "You must live up to your promise not to interfere in the affairs of other states. Remember that stump speech you made at 'Occupy Wall Street' ? Remember how you promised to end all war and bring peace to mankind ? You must make good on that pledge. Those kids in the tents are counting on you."

President Paul smiled. Mentions of "Occupy Wall Street" always made him happy. "You're right, Pat. You're always right. Even when you're wrong, you're right. This a much-to-do-over-nothing. We can't be sure if the CIA is right. After all, those are violent people, and we all know that violent people are never right. Get on the horn, Pat. Ask Hugo nicely to remove the missiles if it all possible. If they don't, well, that's ok. Both Iran and Venezuela know that this is a different America now. They would never harm us. We're a good, non-imperialist country now."

President Paul turned to the nearest door to leave.

"No, no....Mr. President, that's a closet," Vice President Kucinich said putting his hand on the President's shoulder. "Lew, help me get him to bed. Why we have these meetings so late in the day is beyond me."

Two weeks later, the city of Miami was destroyed by Iranian made ICBMs launched from Venezuela's northern coast.

I will not be voting for Dr. Paul in the NH Primary. If, by some miracle, he were the GOP nominee, I would happily vote for him.

He’s wrong about everything except the most important thing (as was Winston Churchill), the most important thing being the restoration of Constitutional money, without which we aren’t going anywhere.

"considering that you really don't understand Ron Paul nor his minions..."

I can't speak for the author of this thread, but how can you possibly not realize just how over the top and in your face Ron Paul drones are? I work in Austin Texas. Every office has at least one Ron Paul drone who often hands out conspiracy CDs from the Alex Jones Truther projects, and constantly proselytizes Ron Paul and "911 Inside Job" BS.

The problem for you guys is that you have been spamming America with this kook's beliefs for over 4 years now...probably longer. But you guys are shapeshifters, especially here on FreeRepublic. None of you admit to being Truthers, and one day you are libertarian, the next day you are "true conservatives"....etc.

We do know Ron Paul and his drones VERY well. Ron Paul and his drones get uglier by the minute. The bridge between Ron Paul and Conservatism was burned a long time ago.

It’s up to us Conservatives to see to it that it doesn’t happen. Just like I’m not voting for someone who inflicted Obamacareless on his state (Myth Romney), allows ilegal alien CRIMINALS to go to college on the taxpayer dime (Ricardo Perry), I’m not voting for someone who regularly gets shout-outs from Code-Pinko. (RuPaul) (Yes, I skipped Huntsman. Who cares ?)

That leaves 4 Conservatives: Gingrich, Cain, Bachmann, and Santorum. I don’t care which one you vote for, but please, whatever you do, vote for a Conservative.

I’ll cross the general election bridge when I get there. Right now, I think our main focus should be making sure a Conservative wins the nomination.

Good question. I think things will change if RuRu goes third party.

Thanks for chiming in. Yes, I think I know the type, but that is not me. My support of Ron Paul is centered on his respect for the Constitution, and all that goes with it. I am somewhat familiar with the "9-11" video, but I've got a much more realistic worldview so as to not be caught up in all the hype.

If sometimes I sound more like a libertarian, it is because there really isn't much difference between libertarian and conservative positions. Mostly the degree of application, rather than principle.

Libertarianism is kissing cousins with Anarchy, not Conservatism. The broken clock analogy works sometimes with libertarian and conservative positions, but that’s it. I used to think I was a libertarian once, and I suspect that many others today think the same. But to be true to libertarian beliefs, one must think more like an anarchist, not a Conservative.

Fortunately for the USA, whether you woukld vote for paleoPaulie in a primary or an election, he will lose. If it were down to just Romney vs. Paul or Huntsman vs. Paul, even I would vote for Paul but he would still lose. No sane person could possibly choose paleoPaulie as POTUS.

May I assume that you meant to say: Conservatives need to organize to stop Romney? and that you did not mean the opposite by including the word “not” in that sentence?

I think thats kinda true. Anarchism is basically the lefts answer to overbearing government, while libertarianism is the rights. But there are important differences. Libertarians want to reduce the size and power of government, but they do acknowledge there actually should BE a government, and that there are functions in our society which not only should be but are more efficiently done by the State (like national defense). Anarchists want a complete overhaul of society into small happy-clappy communes with no centralised organisation at all.

I believe that everyone's political beliefs are based/modified upon one of two Utopian beliefs.

Libertarianism
Totalitarianism

Neither of these are practical and sustainable in a civilization, so we rationalize modifying them into different forms of political beliefs.

Conservatism is an improvement of libertarianism, and progressivism/liberalism is a softer form of Tolalitarianism.

Pure libertarianism is nothing more than anarchy. One has to recognize when they are no longer a libertarian when they realize the numorous issues that they hold which are not actually libertarian beliefs. Ron Paul is neither libertarian or conservative. He should call himself something else and stop smearing us with his cult.

Congressman Paul Paul purports to be a “constitutionalist” but was not among the 245 cosponsors or 272 votes for H.R. 822 (National Right-to-Carry Reciprocity Act) on November 16. He also was one of two U.S. Representatives who signed the pro-gun congressional amicus brief in the Heller case but did not do so in the McDonald case. Finally, Dr. Paul was one of three Republican congressmen — joining anti-gun colleagues Mike Castle and Chris Shays — to vote twice against the Protection of Lawful Commerce in Arms Act which shut down frivolous lawsuits against the firearms industry that attempt to bankrupt them by holding them civilly liable for the criminal misuse of their products by others.

Hey, this is some good info! Usually I’m up on all the “Ron Paul is Evil Incarnate” news, but this is certainly new.
