“Thou shalt not speak ill of any fellow Republican” ~ President Ronald Reagan

Clearly, "any fellow Republican" does not extend to RINOs, who are not actually Republicans. This means guys like Huntsman and Romney.

It’s good to remember (and a sure way to invite a flame-war) that every republican candidate running, even Romney and Paul would be infinitely better than the destructive socialist who is running for a second disastrous term. Yes I dislike Romney, yes Ron Paul is a naïf regarding islamo-fascism but the faults I find in any of the candidates are minor, very minor compared to the wanton destruction caused by the present occupier of the White House.

EXCERPT: Rick Perry: The Best Little Whore in Texas
By Matt Taibbi, rollingstone.com

Rick Perry brings shallow to a new level. He is very gifted in that regard.

Perry’s campaign is still struggling to recover from the kind of spectacular, submarine-at-crush-depth collapse seldom seen before in the history of presidential politics. The governor went from presumptive front-runner to stammering talk-show punch line seemingly in the speed of a single tweet, rightly blasted for being too incompetent even to hold his own in televised debates.......

But such superficial criticisms of his weirdly erratic campaign demeanor don’t even begin to get at the root of why we should all be terrified of Perry and what he represents.

After all, you have to go pretty far to stand out as a whore and a sellout when you come from a state that has produced such luminaries in the history of political corruption as LBJ, Karl Rove and George W. Bush.

Rick Perry has managed to set a scary new low in the annals of opportunism, turning Texas into a swamp of political incest and backroom dealing on a scale not often seen this side of the Congo or Sierra Leone.

In an era when there’s exponentially more money in politics than we’ve ever seen before, Perry is the candidate who is exponentially more willing than we’ve ever seen before to whore himself out for that money.

On the human level he is a nonpersonality, an almost perfect cipher – a man whose only discernible passion is his extreme willingness to be whatever someone will pay him to be, or vote for him to be. Perry is a human price tag —SNIP—

“Perry-pimpopnistas”

I have to say that the quality of the discourse here on FReerepublic have declined since I joined 8 years ago.

I am conservative to the degree that I think one of the foundations of the successful American Experiment after 1776 was the wisdom of the founding fathers not to grand the right of vote to any “yahoo” with an opinion - as well as the wisdom to let these “yahoos” alone in their pursuit of their own happiness.

People complain about the lack of quality candidates, quality politicians....

I am afraid that the people are getting just what they want and what they deserve. Or should that be peoplepnopisas.

Sadly...

Look at it this way. You made the mistake once. Some peeps are perpetual dumb...what you said...like the people you were ranting about.
You should also be aware that some of the people on the political threads are friends and just love to match insults.
Then again...the really serious nasty posters get Jim’s attention and end up outta here.
Better to argue with gusto here than fisticuffs in some alley somewhere. On a boring Saturday afternoon, some of the threads are hilarious. The late night ones are pretty good too. Best to have a sense of humor ‘cause we’re (mostly) all gonna be still here when it’s over.

I agree, limited federal government and limited direct voting vs. land owners voting. When we went to allowing non land owners and direct election of senators we really hurt the original founding fathers plans.

A few are insufferable thugs employing alinskyesque tactics against other candidates and especially at other FR posters. Their attempted intimidation and threats at other FR posters are not much different than the Obamaite Black Panthers who threaten and try to intimidate voters.

I am curious how they think such tactics will bring others to their position/candidate.

Politics of Personal Destruction and Scorched Earth are not reserved for the Lefists. Some on FR are quite adept at using those same tactics on FreeRepublic.com against FR posters who disagree with them or who support other candidates.

[Disclaimer: My state doesn't even hold its primary until late spring 2012. By then, the nominee will probably be chosen already. Thus, I see no reason to jump on any bandwagon at this point in time and am neutral in supporting any singular candidate. I will continue to see them vetted and examined under a microscope, praise them when they are right and condemn them when they are leaning toward moderation. Come next spring, I will see who is still standing in the race by late May, but I doubt our state primary will make any difference.]

I think Reagans 11th commandment is how we got RINOs. I’m sorry, but I’m not beholden to any party. If I disagree with you on what I see is a fall from a constitutional authority, I won’t vote for you.

The system is broken, I want someone to make changes that get us back to strong values, not political correctness nor Corporate rule.

Excellent point. I think the hardest decision I ever made in life was voting for McCain the worst Jack Ass Republican RINO ever, only made palatable by having that wonderful Palin on the ticket.

A certain amount of ‘rough and tumble’ is part of the process, you don’t go into a heavy weight boxing match without doing a lot of sparring before hand and I myself have been ‘Heartless’ at times with some of my comments and zingers, but then you have some on here like LomanBill who’s post are so full of vileness, venom and hate that their rants scream from a 19th century asylum.
