"Goats For Computers" sounds like John Stewart or Saturday Night Live making fun of an Afghan or Bangladesh charity...

Cheers!

Now the MSM will say Perry chokes dogs and killed Bambi!

I do like the picture. It reminds me of ones of my dad and his hunting days with friends.

Did you crib it from another site?

(That is, if you are a member whereever that is, you could leave a comment and see it they'll correct it. It if were fixed, it'd almost make up for the gaffe, just as Herman Cain's question about Anita Hill "Is she coming to endorse me?" skewered that scandal.)

Cheers!

Interesting thought about the in-state tuition.

It is possible it would be a plus nationally. Perry needs to talk about it like the pragmatic decision it actually was and leave sentiment (heart) out of it.

It’s my understanding that a lot of states have similar laws about tuition, but I don’t know which ones or how many.

And his fondness for NAFTA, which is Regional government. You know, New World Order stuff like that.

Well, that’ll help...if he challenges Newt to a run during the debates.

I'm one of the ones that reported about Gov. Perry's Texas Ranger Recon team here on the Border, and believe me they're doing some serious work.

Texas tried to do something about this in 1975 re: withholding state funding for education of illegal immigrant children. It was struck down by the USSC who found:

The court majority found that the Texas law was "directed against children, and impose[d] its discriminatory burden on the basis of a legal characteristic over which children can have little control" — namely, the fact of their having been brought illegally into the United States by their parents. The majority also observed that denying the children in question a proper education would likely contribute to "the creation and perpetuation of a subclass of illiterates within our boundaries, surely adding to the problems and costs of unemployment, welfare, and crime." The majority refused to accept that any substantial state interest would be served by discrimination on this basis, and it struck down the Texas law.

Toll v. Moreno USSC

Texas is compelled to educate students K-12 and not even inquire re: immigration status. After 12th grade Texas has no power to deport them. Again that is the purview of the federal government.

We're stuck with them. If someone is upset about illegal immigrants look no farther than Obama's failed policies. They are bad and they're getting worse.

So the State gets to chose between future taxpayers or Zetas-in-training. How you say that in a thirty second sound bite - I have no idea?

I will add one thing. Hispanics don't 'hate' Gov. Perry. Hispanics - some who's families became American citizens when Texas was taken in as a State. Some who were born here and some who have gone through the citizenship process. I know people in all three groups. I'm not referring to illegal immigrants.

The party is losing a good opportunity to swing some voters who characteristically vote democrat over to the our side. Strong family values don't align with the liberals at all anymore - and they are looking for a place to land.

BTW don't think some are not reading these threads and taking offense at the inability of some people to tell the difference between them and 'wets.'

I'm offended with them.

Due to some poster's juvenile antics I've stopped referring some people who are honestly curious about conservatism - not Republicanism to FR, because frankly it's embarrassing.

All the best to Gov. Perry in the debate tonight.

I had a problem with the in-state tuition, but after some research, I realize that it was actually the ‘will of the people’. It was passed by both the TX House & Senate with only 4 ‘no’ votes....so it was veto-proof.

My friends who live in TX tell me it was an economic decision to educate these kids to have a skill and not be a burden to society.
