Gov. Perry challenges Pelosi to a debate (Pelosi to respond at today's morning press conference)

Texas Gov. Rick Perry has challenged the women conservatives love to hate — House Minority Leader Nancy Pelosi — to a public debate next week.

In a letter obtained by The Hill, Perry requested that the pair meet for a debate during Perry’s visit to Washington next week to compare the plan he rolled out this week to “Uproot and Overhaul Washington” with the current system.

“I think it would be a tremendous service to the American public to see a public airing of those differences,” he wrote. “Let the people decide.”

Perry’s challenge comes just days after his roll out of his plan to reform Washington. A central piece of his plan is a part-time Congress with half the salary and office budgets.

“After increasing the debt by $4 trillion in less than three years no one can truly believe that Americans are satisfied with business as usual, and that a permanent political class in Washington can get us out of the mess you and your colleagues have created,” Perry wrote......

......Pelosi spokesman Drew Hammill told The Daily Caller that the minority leader will address the challenge in her weekly press conference Thursday morning.

Yeah, they thought they knew all the ingredients going into the cake and Perry ain’t in the recipe. It’s throwing them off. I think it’s funny.

Bauer, is he the one with the long skinny nose? I shot my TV (figuratively) in ‘08.

Quite a few Perry ads being run on TV here in the greater Richmond, VA area. We are largely a “visual” society these days; so, I think those ads will help Gov Perry to get his message out.

Since his campaign has the funds to do so, I think they are wise to push the “image” ads right now. I hope Gov Perry hangs in there; his message has value to Conservatives.

Dead wrong.

I and others have been posting well deserved true negative stuff about Perry since the corrupt Trans Texas Corridor eminent domain abuse scheme. Perry was not a candidate then. In fact, it was before the primaries for the 2008 elections.

Cain was nowhere around.

We intend to run Perry’s big government crony ass out of Texas politics.

This cycle I will not vote for Romney, Perry, Paul or Huntsman even if one of them is the republican nominee.

Newt I would really have to hold my nose for.

Cain, Bachmann, and Santorum I am okay with, and will promote interchangeable.

I am still hoping for a dark horse to.enter.

Why would Pelosi agree to this?

Okay, then. You are just a dyed in the wool Perry hater.

Sorry I put the Cain label on you.

Pelosi wouldn’t agree. Perry knows that.

It’s just a very good way to get his message out against liberal congresspersons, Nancy being the worst.

It’s a win, win thing. If she disparages him when she refuses, it will make people like him more.

they did think that getting falsely accused of harrassment was great for the Cain campaign.

I guess they would rather had a candidate who makes the media talk about sexual harrassment is better than a candidate forcing the media to talk about actually cutting Washington.

Oddly, the Cain folks talk about cleaning house. But here Perry is actually proposing a real house-cleaning, and all they can do is snark.

They’ll feel better if their candidate every comes up with a plan.

I started watching the Perry campaign videos, and they are all very good — they tell me exactly what he stands for, and project a good conservative message.

I think they are a step up from a commercial showing that your campaign manager isn’t scared to smoke cigarettes.

LOL yeah but I didn't say that it would be good for Perry to debate the democrats. For him, its nuthin but a fast track elimination round.

Perry will be doing the “center seat” on Fox Special Report on Monday - they won’t be able to ignore him while he’s sitting right there.

At post #30 I contrasted Newt on Pelosi’s couch with Perry’s debate challenge. Minds in sync bump...

The substance works, too. Newt and Nan wanted a gubmint in charge of “global warming”.

Perry is saying slash in half this behemoth that is devouring and leeching off the people.
