I do not think it is the federal government’s place to help ANYONE, rich or poor, improve their ‘unimaginable areas’...

It would if it existed in a vaccuum. But they also want to control the internet and its content, control access and a host of other steps to censor and deny internet freedom.

If they get what they want, by no means assured, it won’t matter if its high speed propaganda or dial up propaganda....

The truth stands on its own. The printing press gave it a small place to stand. The internet gives it the whole planet. Without it, Dan Rather would still be at CBS and nobody would have heard of the Swift Boat Vets (Kerry just might have won). And in both cases, the MSM was supporting the loser.

Imagine if the sea of obama supporters finally got to actually read the conservative viewpoints, and not a caricature of them. The nation could truly change.

high speed internet access to be a “basic human right.”

In the same 'hoods that this is targeted for, a Cadillac Escalade and 'tats are a "basic human right", also, so do we (THE TAXPAYER) expect that it should be funded by us, too?

If you don't work for a living, you are entitled to ZERO.
