Romneycare; The Only Thing Mitt Hasn't Flip-Flopped On

Question: Why would Mitt Romney repeal Obamacare if he took office, like the beltway losers say he will?

It was a great surprise when Mitt jumped into the race with his speech that he was not going to denounce Romneycare, even though it would have been a political no-brainer to do so. He instead decided that his move in Massachusetts was an example of States Rights, presumably to try to fool tea party folks with his zingy buzz words.

The tea party movement is dominated by people who know, instinctively, or by studying the Constitution, that our federal government has no power to force citizens to purchase any product or service. In fact, the tea party movement grew in strength and numbers during the numerous, colorful town hall gatherings in the summer and fall of 2009, in direct correlation to the debate about Obamacare. Though it began as a direct response to spending, it's full force culminated around the argument that our government was (and is) too powerful and over-reaching, and "We The People," need to rein it in. The stimulus spending, the bailouts, and the 1 trillion dollar, 2,000 page health insurance plan called, "Obamacare," made sitting back impossible for many Americans.

The images of tea parties in 2010 often showed signs referencing the 10th Amendment, which states, "The powers not delegated to the United States by the Constitution, nor prohibited by it to the States, are reserved to the States respectively, or to the people." This wording is what Romney and his supporters use to suggest that Romneycare in Massachusetts was an answer to a State issue, and that his State acted entirely within the boundaries of the United States Constitution.

I'm not an expert on the Constitution, but I do understand that forcing people to buy something or pay a penalty is not a conservative reading of the Constitution, at all.

So Mitt Romney, afraid of being called a flip-flopper on a signature piece of legislation that he enacted in Massachusetts, owns Romneycare, and defends it.

But his supporters, including Ann Coulter, continuously insist that as President, Romney would repeal Obamacare.

So we are to believe that Mitt won't flip-flop on government intrusion until after he's elected. Right now, he's for a large, powerful, government that will tell you what to buy or force you to pay a penalty, but once he's elected, he's going to denounce it, right?

So-called conservatives who back Romney bristle at any reference to his flip-flopping on abortion and a host of other issues, yet they insist he will flip-flop as soon as the hobbits shut up and vote for him.

Mitt’s on a rampage against cuts in the Military.

The guy who got a deferment and spent years in France as a missionary during the Vietnam war. Who has 5(?)sons, none of whom have volunteered for military service.

What a phony.

Carpetbagger Romney had to FLEE Massachusetts
after imposing RomneyCARE, RomneyBIGDIGcoverup, RomneyFEES,
RomneyJUDGES, and RomneyMARRIAGE without a single vote
of his victims.

That is why tyrant Romney NEVER lauds RomneyCARE anywhere
near where he actually imposed it.

This bears repeating, there needs to be a concerted effort amongst conservatives in each primary state to unite behind the conservative with the largest lead, or closest to Romney in the polls on election day.

DENY Romney state by state primary victories and grab the delegates for the conservatives.

Come the GOP convention Conservatives can toss Karl Rove, Sean Hannity and Ann Coulter into the street and they can work a deal for the top two conservative vote getters to unite on a conservative ticket that would freeze out Romney and crush Obama.

Why in the hell does everyone lump Sean Hannity in with Coulter and Rove? Friggen pisses me off. Hannity is a major media figure who gets the best interviews because he allows people to say whatever they wish. He disagrees sometimes, and most of the time, he allows the listener to decide for themselves. BBC, You can tell all your little Hannity-hater friends to shove it, and tell them I said so.

SO FRIGGEN SICK OF THIS STUPIDITY

but yeah...coulter and rove suck.

Gee Jenk, have you ever considered decaffeinated?

You obviously do not listen to his repeated airings of Coulter and Rove ad nauseum. You also do not listen when he has Mittens on and kisses his butt instead of asking him legitimate questions about his flip-flops, support of socialized medicine and his claims of not being like Reagan and not liking Reagan’s political style.

You ever wonder why Mitt will NEVER go on Limbaugh? He finds a warm and cozy spot on Hannity’s show. And you know it (Sean).

Jenk - don’t take it personally. At least you got to pimp your blog here.

But, let me know when Hannity has a legitimate interview with Romney that isn’t all marshmallows and verbal hugs.

I have an idea for you. Why don’t you write a blog about how Hannity is not the same as Coulter and Rove in regards to Mitt Romney, detail in it exactly how Hannity is no different (be sure to include all the air kisses he gives Mitt and the air time he gives Rove and Coulter to do the same), pimp it here on Free Republic and sit back and see if Freepers agree with you.

“You’re screwy”? That’s all you can say? Really?

You come onto this site pimping your blog. You write up the blog in the first place as some type of “deep thinking” exercise in mental masturbation and you pimp it here on FreeRepublic in some bizarre exercise of ego exhibitionism and all you can say to a legitimate critique of what is apparently one of your heroes is “you’re screwy”?

How sad and weak that you’ve spent all of your intellectual capital on your blog to the point that you can only shoot rhetorical blanks in defense of a legitimate criticism.

So, in another effort to allow you to save face and rise above the juvenile “I know you are but what am I?” defense skills, please point out to me and both of your blog readers exactly when and where Sean Hannity has legitimately asked Mitt Romney ANY “tough” questions. He has him on his radio show plenty enough and he gave him an entire hour the other evening and the best he can do is lob softballs such as “why don’t you explain for my listeners your positions on X and why is it that certain members of the conservative base need to better understand it?”

Once again, I present FACTS detailing how how Hannity is exactly like Coulter and Rove in doing his best to grease the skids for Romney to garner the nomination. Once again, I present to you an opportunity to refute my position. Here’s hoping you can rise above your feeble efforts, or will you now tell me that I’m “a poopy head”?
