During his first week in office President Barrack Obama declared America was no longer a Christian nation. During his 2011 Thanksgiving address to the American people he reflected “how truly lucky we truly are.”

Instead of offering thanksgiving to the provision and guidance of the Lord God Almighty, President Obama declared the true meaning of Thanksgiving as “Americans drew strength from each other.”

Recently the White House held a two-week early celebration of the Jewish Festival of Lights to “cement America’s support and commitment to the security of Israel.” However, did the President actually use this occasion to once again desecrate a religious observance?

Hanukkah was established to commemorate the great military and spiritual victories of the Jewish Maccabees against Antiochus IV’s attempts to assimilate Jewish beliefs into a one world culture.

Following the death of Alexander the Great, Antiochus IV assumed one of two thrones of a divided kingdom. Antiochus, choosing to perpetuate Alexander’s one-world, one-culture philosophy, targeted the Jews for “change.” Jewish people were forced to make a choice to assimilate to Greek philosophies or face death.

To break down their resolve, Antiochus desecrated and defiled the Jewish temple, then tortured and murdered thousands who kept their Jewish faith.

Despite great odds, the Maccabee family and their followers defeated Antiochus and his forces and re-established the Jewish culture. The temple was restored, cleansed, and opened for worship.

Except Julian was a competent emperor and had the interests of his nation (the empire) in his actions.
His religious views were of course out of step, but he was a good at what an emperors was supposed to be good at.

Whats Zero good at?
I'll wait, name one thing.

"I heard he lit all eight candles at once."

Yes and then he joked that he hoped children wouldn't get the idea that you celebrate Hanukkah for 20 days since he chose to do it early.

I heard the parallel that was predicted that he would be like Abimelech where a woman dropped a millstone by chance and killed him while he was trying to burn a tower down. In the third year of his reign a woman took him out.

The miracle of the Feast was that one day's
worth of oil lasted for eight days.

Many believe that Yah'shua was conceived during
Chanukah and entered into the garment of flesh
to tabernacle among us as the Light of the world.

Yes, 're-dedicating' humanity as the temple of the Holy Spirit in the incarnation of the Second Adam just as the Festival celebrates the re-dedication of the 'Second Temple'.

Not only is there no ‘mystery’ about when Christ was born, but there are tremendous spiritual truths in a right understanding of that and related events.
