Romney’s Problem Isn’t Christine O’Donnell, It’s John Sununu

Some conservatives are upset with Mitt Romney for effusing over former Delaware Senate candidate Christine O’Donnell, who has endorsed him for president. But Forget O’Donnell, who has little clout and influence. What conservatives should really find disconcerting is that Romney has trotted out former New Hampshire Gov. John Sununu to bash Newt Gingrich.

Sununu, you may recall, served as chief of staff for the elder George H.W. Bush. As such, he was instrumental in pushing through far-reaching liberal initiatives that made Teddy Kennedy proud.

There was, for instance, Bush’s...

Decades after engineering political disasters for George H.W. Bush, John Sununu, Sr. has emerged as Mitt Romney's new attack dog. Of course, this won't help Romney.

Sununu also brought us the radically left-wing, Christophobic USSC Associate Justice David Souter.

Sometimes I think we should round up all the politicians in the country, strip them of whatever office they hold, or in the case of bureaucrats, fire them immediately and start all over. No one who has ever held office should be able to run in any election ever again.

I think a bunch of rank amateur citizens could do a better job.......

It’s Monday morning—I’m allowed one fantasy for the week and this is it—LOL!

Yes...Souter was totally Sununu’s idea. Souter was the vote responsible for the Kelo decision. A terrible, terrible associate justice...who as the liberals say...”grew” after spending a couple years on the Georgetown cocktail circuit.

If Sununu is for Romney that’s reason enough to vote for Gingrich.

I didn’t need to have Sununu trotted out to know that Romney was a loser. Thats pretty evident. He lost to the last loser who couldnt beat Zero. Now for some reason, the establishment thinks he is a winner.

Exactly right, especially if you define "rank amateur" as someone who loves this country and has the same God-based philosophy as the Founders. They intended us to be governed "by the People" with an ever changing body of "rank amateurs" instead of these "professional" politicians.

Sununu Sr. (who lives less than a mile from my home) apparently still harbors a grudge against Newt Gingrich for failing to support Bush 41's breaking of his "no new taxes" pledge. Sununu helped convince Bush to do it and was thus instrumental in his defeat at the hands of Bill Clinton. He's also Arab-American, not a big fan of Israel, and doesn't like what Gingrich said about the Palestinians.

But what really makes Sununu a Romney-bot is that he's Ruling Class to the core - doesn't like the Tea Party and didn't lift a finger to support the Republican candidates who rolled to a huge victory here in NH in 2010 without him.

Yep. Sununu’s most lasting crime was pushing David Souter onto the Supreme Court. Perhaps the worst appointment ever by a Republican President, although Eisenhower and Nixon also managed some really bad ones.

Souter had a very, very slim record as a judge, and was not forthcoming at his nomination hearings, so it was hard to tell where he stood. But Sununu swore on his honor that he knew Sununu well, and that he was a very conservative, pro-life judge.

Instead, he turned out to be a gay, abortion-loving Commie activist.

I think Bush was suckered on that one. But the trouble is, Bush was only too ready to be suckered.

I don't think Souter drank cocktails. He was known however for eating an apple at lunch every day, seeds, core, and all. There is a biography out on him. A very weird and strange man, who couldn't have left the court a day too soon.

It was Sununu and a certain Republican RINO senator who pushed the Souter crap on us.
