Willard's 25% problem returns as 75% say "No thanks" and other thoughts on Iowa

Mr. 25% has done it again. Willard Romney has a thing about the number 25. If there are six people in the Republican field his 25% puts him at or near the top. When the field thins out his 25% will have to be increased or he will end up the same way he did in 2008.

Rick Santorum is a solid conservative who demonstrated that a candidate’s perceived conservatism will ultimately be the quality that propels one of the Republicans on the stage to the nomination.

Whether Rick has the staying power to mount a protracted fight remains to be seen, but for now we have to congratulate him for being the first candidate to expose Willard’s 25% problem to those who believe his nomination is a settled matter.

Ron “Sanjaya” Paul has had his day in the sun. There will probably never be any way to prove it, but Paul was most likely the prime beneficiary of Iowa’s ridiculous caucus rule.

Iowa allows a person to declare he/she is a Republican (for a few minutes) with no supporting documentation. This clears the way for that person to cast a vote.

This reminds us of the way the Islamists give themselves a way to use the services of a prostitute by declaring themselves married to the hooker for 15 minutes then “divorcing” her as he walks out the door.

Newt Gingrich was the target of more than 40% of the ads Iowans saw and heard and all of them were negative hit pieces paid for by Willard – fair enough that’s the way this process works.

Newt’s problem will be getting people to drive their “cars” by looking through the windshield rather than at the mirror. He will likely not do much...

Willard prefers to look at the glass as being 1/4 full instead of 3/4 empty.

Oldpuppymax his guy “Ron Paul” 79 percent reject him...or Ginrich 87 percent reject him. Stupid concept. A win is a win. The score of the ball game or how won doesn’t matter. The final score with a victory does.

Sad to think that we might have to vote for someone that makes us wanna stick our finger down our throats and hurl. This should not happen every 4 years that is for sure.

Now that there are only 4 in the field, 25% ain’t going to cut it, though he will pull in more than that in New Hampshire and the rest of the NE.

Willard will only see 25% in SC and FL (The Decider States) in his dreams.

“Newt Gingrich was the target of more than 40% of the ads Iowans saw and heard and all of them were negative hit pieces paid for by Willard”

And now Willard will find that payback ain’t pretty. My guess is Newt hits 30%+ in SC and FL to crush Mr. “I Won By 8 Votes by Outspending Santorum 20 to One” Flopney.

Another way to look at it—he has a very firm 25% who will vote for him come hell or high water, while the other 75% runs from one candidate to another like rats jumping off a sinking ship.

The primary basically boils down to just two candidates—Romney and non-Romney. Everyone including the candidates themselves has defined the election in terms of Romney. It will all come down to who if anyone is that elusive undecided vote.

I was still disillusioned and undecided-until last night.
I'm backing Santorum!
I think Santorum can,and should, win. He seems to have found his groove and is pushing on with a new vigor. The guy is Sarah Palin with a sweater vest.I expect him to get backing from Sarah and Allen West.
I think we should get behind him because he's the absolute best we're going to get, and, the main focus is....to oust 0bama and his henchmen.
As he said last night in his Iowa speech..."GAME ON!"
Seriously...it's time to stop frittering away important time and get behind the guy.
