Posted on 01/08/2012 11:39:11 AM PST by appeal2
A short tribute to mans best friend, my constant companion for the past 14.5 years, a true loyal friend whom I shall eternally miss. Baily, a female border collie, expert herder, amusing canine and all around great dog. She suffered on for many years because she just couldnt stand the idea of leaving us. She was always on guard for any potential threat, be it wolves, coyotes or bad people. She was smart, full of life and always ready to help out.
R.I.P. Baily Lutz!
Listen to the Tribute
My heart goes out to you. Losing a good dog is devastating irrespective of it’s inevitability.
Sorry to hear. Condolences for your loss.
I know she knows how much you love her.
There is nothing like that bond.
I will hug my doggie princess in Bailey’s honor
Beautiful dog. We have a Tri-color split-face Aussie. Sorry for your loss.
I’m sorry for your loss.
It really hurts to lose a pet.
All dogs go the heaven.
So sorry - I lost a standard poodle a little over a year ago. She was 15 and I still miss her horribly. I was such a wreck and didn’t think I could bear not having a dog so I got another standard poodle right away - a puppy who has been something of a challenge.
Not sure if it was smart to get another dog right away but it’s a done deal and I am adjusting to this new personality gradually and vice versa probably. I wonder if she might suspect that she has big paws to fill - they have a way of knowing more than we realize.
Yes they do!
Sad news, I am so sorry to hear it. :(
Condolences on your loss.
I said goodbye to my 15 year old Female BC a few years ago. I still have her photo on my home page.
I am sorry for your lose. My greyhound passed away last October and I still get choked up when I think about him.
I am so sorry to read of your loss. They are our heart and soul & you will always miss Baily. I still cry about my Oliver (Dec 2005). They give so much and demand so little. I have no magic answers for dealing with grief. (even though I am a grief counselor). BUT my prayers are with you to find peace.
Sorry to hear about your loss.
Thanks for posting the picture of “Freckles”.
I’ve been staring at the pic for 5 minutes thinking of our Red/White male Aussie that we lost to cancer a few months ago. The exact same eyes have looked at me at least ten thousand times in the past 14 years.
I miss him so much and truly believe that it is un-natural to be without a dog in our lives.
Just this side of heaven is a place called Rainbow Bridge.
When an animal dies that has been especially close to someone here, that pet goes to Rainbow Bridge.
There are meadows and hills for all of our special friends so they can run and play together.
There is plenty of food, water and sunshine, and our friends are warm and comfortable.
All the animals who had been ill and old are restored to health and vigor; those who were hurt or maimed are made whole and strong again, just as we remember them in our dreams of days and times gone by.
The animals are happy and content, except for one small thing; they each miss someone very special to them, who had to be left behind.
They all run and play together, but the day comes when one suddenly stops and looks into the distance. His bright eyes are intent; His eager body quivers. Suddenly he begins to run from the group, flying over the green grass, his legs carrying him faster and faster.
You have been spotted, and when you and your special friend finally meet, you cling together in joyous reunion, never to be parted again. The happy kisses rain upon your face; your hands again caress the beloved head, and you look once more into the trusting eyes of your pet, so long gone from your life but never absent from your heart.
Then you cross Rainbow Bridge together....
