With a majority of Americans rallying against the Obama Administration's rule that religious institutions must be forced to provide contraception, it appears that the sentiment is growing. The ObamaCare mandate mainly affects the Catholic Church, but many non-Catholics are making clear their opposition to this government intrusion.
It's even spread to Democrats.
One Democrat in particular, Senator Joe Manchin, has been unequivocal in his condemnation. Manhcin is up for re-election this year after serving two terms as West Virginia's Governor.
"This is not only unacceptable, it is un-American," says Sen. Joe Manchin, D-W.Va., a Catholic who faces re-election in November in a state where Wednesday nights are reserved for church services.
Meanwhile, other Democrats are speaking out against the rule, even as the Administration now appears to be waffling.
It’s gonna be a big weekend at the Waffle House.
Expecting a Democrat to take a moral stand is like trying to get Catholic Congrescritters to vote against Obamacare. Remeber that fiasco? Democrats worship at the altar of Karl Marx.
Everyone in the press uses contraception as the linchpin of the mandate. Far more important is the forced directive to provide abortion services. That will not stand.
Big deal. Manchin is calling this un -American yet he will be out pushing hard for this loser in the WH to be reelected. If this dope was genuine, he would come out and say he cannot in good conscience support the Regime for reelection.
Nope. More like it’s an election year....Barry is just trying to fend off the voters anger until November(then it’s game on!) Sen. Manchin is up for re election also in 2012 so he is just hedging his bets......
The top Democrat couple have simplified from “Obama Contraception Rule ‘Un-American’” to “Obama Un-American”.
The operative word is "re-election." Otherwise Manchin is just another Commie Demmie.
Why do I get the feeling that Obama’s poll numbers are only good against Santorum, so this is a manufactured crisis by the WH to prop up Santorum’s campaign?

Good to see the tip of the iceberg exposed, but you are correct: OBAMACARE is unAmerican/unConstitutional, AND the Obama regime certainly takes great pride in the many ways it has found to circumvent the Constitution, our God-given rights, and the Law of the Land.
Many of us citizens woke up without the need of an alarm clock. Now the alarm clock is screaming-— Wake-up America. Don’t push snooze when Obama caves on the contraception mandate. Fool me once...; fool me twice...

I wouldn’t be surprised to see Manchin switch parties. The Obama Administration has been an enemy of the Coal Industry and Manchin has been on the opposite side more often than the Dem. side.
