Dead at 48. Does anyone need to wonder why? I just remember a few of her music videos during the 80’s, and was sad later to see the interviews where she looked as strung-out as any crack addict, while claiming crack was too cheap for hear. What makes the more expensive stuff any better though, really?

Pardon the “pasting” error on this post. I’m using a smartphone that is smarter than I am. :)

So another Junkie dies, who cares?? Why people get so enthralled with these court jester types is beyond me, for the most part they are losers and arguably the dumbest people I have ever met.

Not to be insensitive, but back in the day the pundits called Elvis “just another dead doper” upon his death.

So many great talents lost to drugs, sad. I don’t know what caused the end this women’s life, but I do know that drugs were a great contributor if not the final arbiter.

I just saw Whitney Houston and Elvis, both in sunglasses walking down the Las Vegas strip together. Nobody even noticed them.... you read it here first....8^)

Mayhap because we admire their talent and will miss their artistic contribution to society?

Throughout history we have had heroes that have inspired us, yet their lives were less then exemplar. Yet they remain our heroes because of what they contributed.

Does everyone know that Whitney Houston was the niece of Dionne Warwick?

Years ago, that fact came up from time to time. But I haven’t heard it mentioned at all upon her death. Nor have I heard any public statement from Dionne Warwick. If they had a family falling out, that’s a tragic post script to her death.

Exactly. A beautiful, talented woman who became a cautionary tale.

There was no falling out. Warwick did make a brief statement.

Also, Aretha Franklin was her godmother.

Indeed. That's why I regard my own life as not totally wasted.

Enough already. Look, she was a once very talented young lady who blew it on drugs and selling her soul for the “life”. We don’t need another two weeks of the MSM accolades heaping praise on another fading and failed dead junkie.

I don’t follow the pop culture but as soon as I heard she sang in the choir as a child, I knew she like Elvis died daily in their lives by carrying the convictions of their sins. Both of these singers were given a gift from God, which was a reminder daily of how much He loved them. But no, they turned around and said thank you to the Devil. That is why they were so tortured. May God have mercy on both Whitney and Elvis’ souls.

Yes, it has been mentioned. She was also related to Aretha Franklin. In fact, Dionne Warwick escorted the body back with the family and was with them to make arrangements at the funeral home.

Whitney started out as a “church girl”. Guess she could have used a real life bodyguard...http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Qd6VQpe6e5I
