Santorum Leads in Three of Five YouGov Super Tuesday Polls by YouGov Staff in Economist/YouGov Poll and Politics

Romney and Gingrich lead in their home states, but trail Santorum in Ohio, Oklahoma, and Tennessee.
Five days before the crucial Republican primaries on "Super Tuesday" (March 6), former Pennsylvania Senator Rick Santorum holds narrow leads over his opponents in Oklahoma and Ohio and a wider margin in Tennessee.
The Oklahoma race is nearly a toss-up, with Santorum leading at 28%, former Massachusetts Governor Mitt Romney second at 25%, and former House Speaker Newt Gingrich trailing at 20%. (These differences are well within the 8.8% margin of error for the Oklahoma poll.)
In delegate-rich Ohio, Santorum holds a six point advantage over Romney (33% to 27%, which is also within the margin of error), with Gingrich far behind at 12%. Santorum's largest edge is in Tennessee, where he leads Romney 32% to 23%, though the race tightens to a seven point margin when undecided voters are counted for the candidate they say they lean toward.
Both Romney and Gingrich lead in their home states. Romney faces little competition in Massachusetts, where he currently leads Santorum by 56% to 16%.
Gingrich leads Romney in Georgia by a much narrower 32% to 27% margin, with Santorum at 17%.

Santorum is down over 25 percent in Intrade today on the Ohio prediction. He’s currently sitting at about 30 percent to Mitt’s 70 percent. Anyone know what’s going on or what has changed today? It’s a big fall from yesterday.

This reminds me of the “legitimate polls” that had the Reverend Rick over 10 points ahead in Michigan, and 18 points ahead in Ohio.

MI would have gone to Santorum and Romney would have been kaput had the candidate for “permanent moon-based colonies” in eight years and $2gas/gallon had not split the conservative vote. Enuf of this Napoleonic complex. Romney needs to thanks Gingrich if he wins the nominee. Bachman, Cain, Perry, Pawlenty, all had the common decency to quit. Time for Gingrich to do so.

Except for GA where Romney and Santorum together poll more than him, Gingrich is coming is dead last in all the other elections. He has become a useful idiot for Romney, where he splits the conservative vote and Romney keeps winning like he did in MI and WA.
Why is this occurring? Because as Romney so well exploited this in FL, is that Gingrich is “unstable”- he shoots off crazy stuff like having permanent moon-based colonies in under eight years or $2.50 gas/gallon regardless of world demand and energy markets and is a supporter of cap-and-trade to combat global warming, a proposal that will cost trillions of dollars, and talks grandiose stuff regardless of the political realities of divided government.
His idea of hauling in judges to explain their opinions before Congress (BTW, they do argue their dissents or lead opinion in making the ruling they do and we have courts of appeal) was so laughable under a constitution that requires a separation of powers, that not one single conservative scholar or politician embraced his idea. Instead he was roundly ridiculed, and he’s backed away.
After Santorum’s trifecta he should have done the decent thing and withdrawn. Romney would have lost MI and we’d have a whole different ball game. But thanks to psycho-freeps like you who repeatedly post anti-Santorum spam, we now are all but resigned to a Romney nominee.

I agree with you, Newt is selfishly letting the left use him to deflect Santorum. I’m thinking some of the money that’s going to Newt is also from those who want Santorum out of the way.
I said it before, Rick is being Palinized. No other candidate in this race has undergone the baseless attacks that Rick has from the press. Just this morning, hitting him on charitable contributions? Seriously? When have they asked Romney one damn personal question period? When have they hammered Romney on any issue?
