Newt & Rick Split the Conservative Vote: Are One or Both Covert Rinos?
Bloggers & Personal ^ | 5 March 2012 | Xzins

Posted on 03/05/2012 4:40:56 PM PST by xzins

One of the many problems with ObamaCare is discovering that a self-bought policy is government run. What is the problem with a government policy? Well...it's government run.

They get you coming and going. There's a pretend choice that is no choice, and even that non-choice is eventually forced out of business so that all is subsumed under the reality of a bureaucrat deciding if you get a heart bypass or a quick sendoff to the great beyond.

Fake choices abound when dealing with politicians.

That's why one simply must wonder about the Gingrich/Santorum splitting of the conservative vote.

Who benefits? Romney.

Who realizes that's what's happening? Both Newt and Rick.

Have they made a deal of some sort to stop it? Nope.

Is that the same as throwing conservatives under the bus?

A Greyhound barreling along a 100 mph.

I remember a few years back, driving around and I heard Newt on Hannity one day, way back even when Bush was in, or perhaps Obama had just been elected. He was being interviewed and i was surprised to hear him on any show at the time.

And he was talking about his conservative think tanks, conservative causes — how he was working on one conservative project or another — and I thought at the time — “poor Newt, he’s just happy to stick to what he believes, even though it’s SERIOUSLY been rejected for now in this country .... “ I sort of just felt sorry for him and figured he was just relegated to the periphery. Yet now look at him.

Newt is and always has been a conservative. What these very recent erratic moves w/ Pelosi on the couch were, I don’t know ...perhps it was just his “scientific” side wanting to appear cooperative w/ the enviros, but for the most part, Newt TAUGHT me how to be a conservative.

Romney — came from outer space as far as I know.

Santorum — has always been associated with the pro-life cause from the days when Newt first ushered him into Congress.

I just wish Rick and Newt would get together and cream Romney. I am so mad about the RNC/right wing pro-romney cheating, lying and manipulation of this election. They think since obama is so far left, we have to move left, so they give us romney. They take no notice of Greece and what is happening to them; its the same road we are on.

I cannot vote for romney or tell my family to. The GOP pushed him even though they KNEW the base would be mad. They take us for granted and assume we will do what they say. The problem is they have to keep moving left, and what are we leaving our kids and grand kids? If we give them what they want and vote romney, we can expect them to always chose our candidates; like they did mccain.

I'm tired of the GOP pushing us in this corner, and of drudge, coulter.....telling us what we should think, and those who will compromise and vote for romney after all they did.

As a Christian I can't vote for someone who is in a cult and thinks Jesus is satans brother, thinks he is a god and will get his own planet.... (is it me or will obama and/or his backers laugh all the way to the white house?) More than that, romney does not have a north star; he lacks direction (actually his direction is to get power and destroy anyone in his way. Oh yea, and his own planet) He has lied over and over in BIG ways. He is the hypocrite that Jesus talked about; looks good on the outside, but full of dead mans bones on the inside.

I pray he does not win & God gives us a miracle. THIRD PARTY. if necessary. I'm really starting to believe the GOP does not care if we win, that their goal is personal power. I've decided that I am not voting for anyone or giving donations to anyone who endorsed romney.

Please don't think I hate romney. I'm more scared of him then obama. I know what obama is, but romney has lied and left a trail of blood to get what he wants. I don't think we really know his true agenda.

No one needs to comment. I just need to air my frustration.

Santorum is clearly an establishment puppet, by his congressional voting record. RINO seems to differ from person to person, but compared to what the voters claim to want, yes he is a RINO.

Newt also did some damage to conservatives as speaker, but he appears to at least be repentant, and does offer sensible solutions to our problems; something that neather Romney nor Santorum have done.

A middle of the road financial politician’s spending equals that year’s income.

If a politician spends less than that year’s income, then he or she is a financial CONSERVATIVE, because money was conserved.

Financial Liberals are generous with money that is not theirs, and never conserve any money.

What Candidates today in “both” political parties have actually spent less than their political entities yearly income? They are the financial Conservatives.

Vote in the financial Conservatives, because your grandchildren’s descendants will thank you for doing so.

BTW, aren’t most social issues in politics more in the sphere of Morality, and really are outside the sphere of Government?

For example: Education, Health, Insurance, Annuities, Retirement Finances, Food, and the other hammocks that make up our sorry sidetrack called the Welfare Safety Net?

Record of Accomplishment and New Imperative to Return America to that Shinning City on a Hill

Well......

That's where a record comes in. Not just the record of votes, which is often a meaningless toll of positions taken for political reasons on bills that were always going to pass or were never going to pass, but a record of actions taken that actually mattered.

A record of actions taken that actually mattered.  Newt is the man who fits that description to a "T".

He can identify what is most important to the country, develop a plan to overcome that challenge, articulate the the merits of overcoming the challenge and why the plan will work.

I hadn't been for Gingrich initially and spent plenty of energy excoriating him, these last several years, for any number of sins he committed against the Republican/Conservative ideals.  He seemed a turncoat of sorts, particularly when he babysat Pelosi on the couch.

On reflection, Newt is an attention whore seeking relevancy for his ideas and I guess I take him at his word that he made a few mistakes in his life and he has at least some regret for those decisions.  God knows I am no angel and so I have to reflect on the man's ability to get things done.

Newt gave us the Republican majority, the Contract with America, Welfare Reform, Reduced Taxes, Balanced the Budget four years running and completed 2/3rds of his agenda while in office.

He now has a new plan for America and with what is likely to become a Congressional Super Majority and a Senate Majority, if not Super Majority, I believe he will absolutely accomplish his agenda.

Say goodbye to ObamaCare the single biggest scam and travesty foisted upon a free people who, by right, ought to have been given the opportunity to read the bill and debate it.  Instead, a win at all cost, cheating agenda was developed and it was signed with most people never laying eyes on at least page 2 of this utopian dreck.

Executive Orders Positions:

The following are all within the executive powers to simply order and with the exception of securing the border within one year, they are all easily accomplished with the stroke of a pen and no way to challenge them in the legislature.

Keystone may be challenged in the courts but I think the Executive can order the EPA to approve, under National Security Priorities and it is a National Security issue, as well, a jobs issue.

As President, Newt, could actually have a very busy 1st week or month just on these initiative alone.

1. Eliminate the thirty-nine White House "Czar" positions created during the current administration. The president does not have the authority to appoint bureaucrats to power who are not accountable to the Congress.

2. "Mexico City Policy" of Respect for Life. Reauthorize President Ronald Reagans policy also known as the "Mexico City Policy" to stop tax payer dollars from being used to fund or promote abortions in foreign countries.

3. Restore conscience clause protections for Healthcare Workers. No American working in a medical environment should be forced to perform any procedure that he or she finds morally or ethically objectionable based on religious teaching. This protection should include, but not be limited to abortion. Existing conscience clause protections need to be strengthened.

4. Respect Each Sovereign Nations Choice of its Capital. Each sovereign nation, under international law and custom, may designate its own Capital. Accordingly, the U.S. State Department should be instructed to respect the choice of each sovereign nation and place the American embassy in their Capital.  (Israel is the only country the United States discriminates against in this regard. The people of Israel have designated Jerusalem as their capital. Yet the United States retains its embassy in Tel Aviv.)

5. End the Attorney General's Assault on the States. Instruct the Attorney General to withdraw all immigration-related lawsuits against states immediately, including those pending in Arizona and South Carolina. The Obama Administration refuses to enforce federal immigration laws, and instead sues states who are merely trying to enforce the laws that the federal government neglects. The Gingrich Administration will secure the border by Jan. 1, 2014 by any means necessary.

6. The Keystone Pipeline

Unleash American Energy by Approving the Keystone XL Pipeline. Instruct the State Department to approve a Presidential Permit immediately for the Keystone XL pipeline, a project that will send 700,000 barrels of oil a day from Great Plains and Southwestern states to Gulf Coast refineries lower staggering energy prices, and create up to 120,000 American jobs.

LEGISLATIVE PROPOSALS

Now we get into the details of an inclusive agenda that brings the people(you and me), through their representatives, into process.  The TEA Party and conservatives are going to have a majority in both houses.

Lets elect an Executive who will absolutely fulfill the promise of our ideals.

Executive Summary

  1. Repeal Obamacare and pass a replacement that saves lives and money by empowering patients and doctors, not bureaucrats and politicians.
  2. Return to robust job creation with a bold set of tax cuts and regulatory reforms that will free American entrepreneurs to invest and hire, as well as by reforming the Federal Reserve and creating a training requirement for extended federal unemployment benefits to encourage work and improve the quality of our workforce.
  3. Unleash Americas full energy production potential in oil, natural gas, coal, biofuels, wind, nuclear oil shale and more, creating jobs,  stimulating a sustainable manufacturing boom, lowering gasoline and other energy prices, increasing government revenues, and bolstering national security.
  4. Save Medicare and Social Security by giving Americans more choices and tools to live longer, healthier lives with greater financial independence.
  5. Balance the federal budget by freeing job-creators to grow the economy, reforming entitlements, and implementing waste cutting and productivity improvement systems such as Lean Six Sigma to eliminate waste and fraud. Pass a balanced budget amendment to keep it balanced.
  6. Control the border by January 1, 2014 and establish English as the official language of government; reform the legal visa system, and make it much easier to deport criminals and gang members while making it easier for law abiding visitors to come to the US.
  7. Revitalize our national security system to meet 21st century threats by restructuring and adequately funding our security agencies to function within a grand strategy for victory over those who seek to kill us or limit American power.
  8. Maximize the speed and impact of medical breakthroughs by removing unnecessary obstacles that block new treatments from reaching patients and emphasizing research spending towards urgent national priorities, like brain science with its impact on Alzheimers, autism, Parkinson's, mental health and other conditions knowledge of the brain will help solve.
  9. Restore the proper role of the judicial branch by using the clearly delineated powers available to the president and Congress to correct, limit, or replace judges who violate the Constitution.
  10. Enforce the Tenth Amendment by starting an orderly transfer of power and responsibility from the federal government back to the states, respectively, or to the people, as the Constitution requires. Over the next year, state and local officials and citizens will be asked to identify the areas which can be transferred back home.

Newt gave us the three most important victories of the 90s Welfare Reform, Balanced Budget and Reduced Taxes.  I hope I dont need to describe the benefits of those victories.  They ought to be obvious to everyone by now.

Lastly, there have been some reports that Newt shouldnt get all the credit.  Really?  Then perhaps we marginalize the accomplishments of Washington, Roosevelt, Kennedy and ….wait for it… Reagan.

Do we really want to go down the road with that kind of adolescent sophistry and parsing of what happened?

Newt is the guy who thought of these big things, proposed them and shepherded their implementation?

Newt has once again identified what is important to us now, at this time and described how we can get there with our representative majorities. He has done it before and I declare Newt Gingrich was then and is Now a leader.

We should elect Newt Gingrich to the Presidency of the United States

“”Yes Santorum is a gold plated pro union, big government, nanny state Rhino who now tries to tell us all his rhino votes were just taking one for the team. And now he suckers SoCons into voting for him with his pro-life spiel, but when the rubber met the road he voted for funding for PPH and supported one of the most liberal pro abortion Senators in history when Mr Specter ran against a true conservative.

Newt on the other hand brought conservative Republicans back to power in the House after 40 years of back bench status. Worked to balance the federal budget and reform welfare getting both done even with a democrat president.

If Santorum isn’t being paid by Romney’s people who should call them ask them for a check. Without him Romney would be nowhere today.””

Santorum was aware of abortion, he was a lifelong Catholic and was working in politics by the late 1970s, he went through the abortion wars and the Reagan years (”he shunned Youth for Reagan as being too “fringe right-wing”), yet he remained pro-abortion.

Just like Romney Santorum said “I was basically pro-choice all my life, until I ran for Congress”.

Santorum is described as being uninterested in issues as a political operative, but also for telling people that they had to lock on an issue, and hammer it to create an awareness of them to the electorate.

Santorum says he became (kind of) pro-life in 1990 to run for office, but in 1996 he was supporting Arlen Specter for President.

Here is Specter’s Presidential campaign description that Santorum was endorsing: “For Specter, who later became a Democrat, his pro-abortion-rights position was a centerpiece of his campaign. Specter believed that anti-abortion activists were a “fringe” group hijacking the Republican party.

“There are clearly more Republicans who are pro-choice,” Specter told Newsday’s Susan Page. “Up until now, I am the only person willing to take on the fringe.” After Specter dropped out of the race, he led an ill-fated movement to change the anti-abortion provision in the Republican party platform.”

In 2004, Santorum helped save Specter’s Senate race, in 2008, he supported the most aggressively pro-abortion guy to have ever reached his level in GOP politics, Mitt Romney.

In 1990 Santorum ran as a “Progressive Conservative” (his campaign literature used that description) who was against the pro-life amendment and many of us that have learned more about him do not see him as a true conservative warrior.

After 2006 and the record breaking 18 point dumping of him from his Senate seat, Santorum was finished in politics, until this protecting Romney from the right gig came along.

Yes, Santorum is truly a piece of work.

And he has a bunch of people thoroughly snookered on his pro-life charade.

Stupid is for life, and about 1/3 of Freepers are too stupid or too stubborn to be allowed to vote.

Abortion is a moral issue. Murder is a Government issue.

When Abortion changes to Murder is a legal issue that is still being debated in our Government Courts.

Abortion is also an emotional issue, and thus is very attractive to politicians, because it will be a topic that will be endlessly debated all of their careers.

Education is another magnet topic for politicians, as every parent wants the best for their children and will vote in anyone who promises more and better “for the children.”

Health is a bottomless money pit, etc, etc, etc.

Over 40 % of Federal Spending now goes to our sorry Welfare System, and we borrow 41 % of our Federal spending money by selling IOU Bonds that are charged to be paid off by our Grandchildren’s descendants.

_______

I understand your point: people are more important than money. Right now we are broke, and have been for decades. We are the World’s largest Debtor Nation, and have been for decades.

My point is that we are broke because in our Government we included bottomless money pit morality topics to break America financially.

Leave morality issues to Churches, Private foundations, and try to pay off the ruinous financial debt that our 80 years of wandering on the endless Welfare sidetrack has left with us.

Hopefully we will choose a President of high moral character to lead us.

I don’t know if they are snookered or not, but it seems that Santorum has been living a charmed life since no one has taken a look at his very liberal, very pro-abortion, past.
