Will that Romney lead shrink after the 9 contests?
The Orange County Register blog Orange Punch ^ | 3-7-2012 | Mark Landsbaum

Posted on 03/07/2012 11:37:16 AM PST by landsbaum

This campaign ain’t over by a long shot. Mitt Romney’s delegate total for the Republican race to choose President Barack Obama’s opponent in November stands at 404, according to Real Clear Politics, compared to runnerup Rick Santorum’s 161, with 1,144 needed to win.

Even though Romney won six of Super Tuesday’s 10 contests, news reports fall something short of coronation. One reason may be the next nine primaries between now and April. With the exception of Illinois, none of the states in the coming month look particularly Romney-ish. . .

It’s not a stretch to think Santorum could sweep that lineup, which would bring things much closer. . .

Will your blog hit count shrink after the 9 pimpbustings?

You forgot to ping yourself.

Don’t worry, it’s all taken care of.

I would prefer you include the whole ‘article’ than directing us to your blog. It’s only 3-4 short paragraphs.

Sorry, Paudio.

landsbaum and his alter ego, Mark Landsbaum are cleverly hiding this blog under the aegis of the OC Register.

Funny, isn’t it? They have demanded “excerpt only” protection for their blog entries, but they so desperately want to “share” each and every one with us to up their hit count.

Pimps.

I’m actually not bothered to much with pimpings if the article is worth reading. Unfortunately in this case the part he ommited is simply too short and doesn’t contain any new info.

You know.. if posters on Free Republic demanded anything like that,
requiring hits to read every post, they would be righteously zotted.

I'm not seeing a whole hell of a lot of difference between that scenario and our current crop of blogpimps.

Blogs and other sites linking to freerepublic is one of the main things that help make freerepublic popular.that's what Google also bases it's searches on. Your humblegunner campaign against bloggers linking to their blogs is hurting freerepublic. This site is important and informative etc. You are doing damage to freedom.

“blogpimps” put links to freerepublic on their blogs. That is the main reason imo why Freerepublic is popular. After you insulting and getting them banned they are not going to put a link to freerepublic on their site. Google bases it’s search engine on how many links there are to a site:

http://support.google.com/webmasters/bin/answer.py?hl=en&answer=66356

Your site’s ranking in Google search results is partly based on analysis of those sites that link to you. The quantity, quality, and relevance of links count towards your rating. The sites that link to you can provide context about the subject matter of your site, and can indicate its quality and popularity

One little problem with your theory - it’s wrong.

While linkbacks may be important, they are ~NOT~ part and parcel of the blogs being pimped on FR.

Here’s a test for you:

Click on the blog linked on this thread.

Close your FreeRepublic tab.

Now try to find your way back.

(After you use your bookmark to get back here, you might also want to clean your system of the cookies and trackers that they so kindsly “gave” you while you were there.)

This guy is here for one reason only - to make money. He said so himself.

Free Republic was popular before blogs existed.

Over the years I've heard a lot of drivel from blogpimp apologists but that's about the lamest assertion yet.

"While linkbacks may be important" At least you know that truth. They are extremely important. there is no way you can prove that bloggers you all got banned or angry would not have put a link to freerepublic on their site.

That's just one example. Overall Google bases its search engine on the number of links to a site.

http://support.google.com/webmasters/bin/answer.py?hl=en&answer=66356

To make money? And what is bad about that? Most of the sites on the Internet are there to make money. That's called capitalism and free enterprise as opposed to socialism.

How many “blogpimps” that you all have banned or insulted have not put that link back to freerepublic? So freerepublic would be even more popular now if you all hadn't gotten all these "blogpimps" banned and angry. This site needs to be read by more to counter the liberal mainstream media lies. You all are hurting freerepublic and so freedom

I’m unaware of having any blogpimps banned.

A few have flipped out and gotten themselves banned, but that’s their prerogative.
An inherent instability exists among bloggers, it is true.

Requesting that they not excerpt their material is apparently more than they can bear.

Most blogpimps are parasites on the body of Free Republic,
leeching away traffic from this more popular location.

You seem to have things a bit backwards.

I don't think hardly anyone would prefer a blog over freerepublic. So they will come back to freerepublic even if they momentarily go to that blog. That's competition. But freerepublic would win over almost all these blogs expecially the new ones.

But if a blogger puts a link to freerepublic on their blog or site then that increases freerepublic’s rating in Google. And Google is read by hundreds of millions of people every minute so that increases the exposure of freerepublic to tens of millions more people the higher the rating in Google.

And yes you have gotten blogers banned by you insulting them so they retaliate etc. . Also by insulting them and intimidating them that also would make them not come back here or put a link to freerepublic.

Well and good.

What does any of that have to do with scummy blogpimps excerpting their own material to get blog hits?

They can add links to Free Republic all day long and twice on Sunday WITHOUT excerpting their own material.
