Over the course of three months, 25-year-old Olbin Euceda committed crimes involving 26 victims in the Antioch area during the fall of 2011, according to multiple Davidson County grand jury indictments handed down last week.
Detectives and SWAT team officers from the Metro Nashville Police Department arrested Euceda in December after allegedly raping an 11-year-old girl and robbing her family. He was caught just before boarding a bus to Mexico.
The grand jury indictments handed down last week charge Euceda with 41 separate counts, outlining to some extent the crimes with which he and his alleged accomplice, Rony Sorta, are charged.
Euceda and Sorta targeted people outside their apartments, forcing them into their residences at gunpoint, according to police affidavits. The two men allegedly stole personal items like jewelry and laptops, and in at least one robbery, kidnapped a person and forced them to withdraw cash from an ATM.
In all, Euceda stands accused in robberies on Sept. 24, Oct. 7, Oct. 27, Nov. 5, Nov. 17, Nov. 19, and Nov. 20, 2011. He is being charged with 27 counts of aggravated robbery, two counts of sexual battery, five counts of especially aggravated kidnapping, five counts of aggravated rape, one count of aggravated burglary and one count of assault.
Euceda is suspected to be here illegally, according to MNPD reports. District Attorney General’s spokeswoman Susan Niland said illegal immigrants are prosecuted in Nashville, serve their sentences if convicted and are then turned over to U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement.
