Already leading in the polls when it comes to womens votes, the Obama campaign laid out a bold plan to seal the deal with a short film called the Life of Julia. In the film, the government is portrayed as Julias omnipresent caregiver and overseer.
Both psychology and our polling data indicate that the thing women want most is to be taken care of, said Obama campaign adviser David Axelrod. Sadly, the traditional method of achieving this objectivebeing part of a loving family as a daughter, wife, mother, etc.is defective. What were offering is for the government to slip in and substitute for the roles that would traditionally be played by fathers and husbands.
Government has more resources at its disposal than any individual man could bring to his family, Axelrod bragged. Government is immortal and ubiquitous. A woman would never have to worry about it becoming unemployed or asking for a divorce. She wouldnt have to cook it meals, wash its socks, or put up with tiresome demands for sex or affection. If we can effectively communicate these facts we feel confident that the vast majority of women will vote Democrat this November.

Women bite back when they become disappointed after being sold on something. Better to let their direction and goals ride on their own ambition.
It's a frustrating process which takes time.

However, men have one “resource” government does not. The God-given apparatus to help create a family.
"Slipping it in is no sin."
“our polling data “ Axelrod. That is the key phrase, not just for the women’s vote, but for then entire Obama campaign.
Axelrod intentionally creates an issue: contraception or whatever. Then
1) checks the way it is handled in the media and by GOP voices, how Rush handles it and does it backfire or not, etc.
2) polls and focus groups what works, what does not.
They are test marketing a variety of packaging for the fall campaign. They know they cannot beat us. They know that we can beat ourselves if we go off message (like Santorum) or react in a way that backfires on us.
Anyone who thinks this campaign is about our ideology vs their ideology is like thinking suicide terrorists abide by Geneva convention.
They're probably working on that little "problem," too.
I don't care if the Dems stand on their heads and do the can-can, I'm not even remotely interested in their opinions or their idea of "freedom" and women's rights.

They’re probably working on that little “problem,” too.
