Are you getting your moneys worth when you buy dinner? Probably, or you wouldnt keep paying that price, and go somewhere elsewhere to eat out.
The same applies to clothing and shelter. Almost no one continues to pay more for something than they feel it is worth. In fact, thats the meaning of un-affordable something that doesnt give you equal value for what you are able to pay.
The Tax Foundation has a report that might open your eyes. It says Americans are paying more in taxes than they pay for food, clothing and shelter combined...

We have to pay so our “representatives” can live like kings and queens, and by queens I don’t necessarily mean just the women.

I could be wrong, but it looks like you are excerpting your own blog. ??

I could be wrong, but it looks like you are excerpting your own blog. ?? Even the OC Register's blog section falls under the "unfriendly to FR" protection
of its demands for excerpting. One might check the poster's history to learn his true thoughts about Free Republic.
Since I was asked.

"Okay, thanks for the clarification. I apologize if I have offended any FReepers."
Oh don't worry. I seriously doubt that you've offended any FReepers, other than those who are habitual malcontents.
All you have done is to call attention to the curiosity of a "journalistic enterprise" demanding that it's work be excerpted while using the forum's exposure to advertise that same work.
It's kind of like your neighbor inviting himself over for dinner and then telling you exactly how to cook it.
We wouldn't want you to get the idea that you did something wrong by noticing this oddity. It's just that not everything that's legal is necessarily right. The IRS confiscating a third of your income is legal too. But it certainly isn't right.

my highest expense BY FAR is taxes
my taxes are FAR beyond the cost of my mortgage, food, and clothing. depending on the year, sometimes 10 times more.

why am i paying to fund these people again???

You said you apologized and in my verbose, round about way I was just telling you that was unnecessary.
You didn’t do anything offensive.
