In response to the major smack down Gay marriage got in North Carolina. Barack Obama made a hurried and clumsy announcement of support for such unions.
Immediately thereafter most Black pastors reacted with strong condemnation of Obamas position. In reaction to their speaking out against Gay marriage Obama twisted the arm of some of the more influential pastors as he had strong armed Cory Booker for his heresy.
To make all of this go away Public Policy Polling (PPP) a North Carolina firm that had misled Obama into thinking he was going to lose the vote the North Carolina gay marriage vote by a manageable 55% against and possibly even do better hurried, to make things right with a ridiculous poll of Marylands Black voters showing a 36% swing to support Obama and Gay marriage.
Now we have Clarence Page the Black liberal syndicated columnist gleefully sticking his tongue out at conservatives and breathlessly declaring that an ABC/Washington Post poll is showing Black voter support for Gay marriage has increased FORTY ONE PERCENT all the way to 59%. So take THAT, conservatives!
Well guess what? Black enthusiasm to vote is already so low (48% down from 78% this time in 2008) that ANY diminution will be lethal for Obamas chances of reelection.
African American Bishop Harry Jackson of the Hope Christian Church the head of a 176 member coalition of religious leaders has no intention of backing down from his anti Gay marriage position he sees as biblically based.
Bishop Jackson has asked, We want to know whether he[Obama] is going to use the bully pulpit of the presidential office to absolutely erase the image of biblical marriage from the face of the earth? Some
. have taken his statements as a declaration
.. marriage.

Blacks are coming out of the closet. All that anti culture, hip hop, macho, rape your women, cut ya, kill ya stuff is just young black men trying to hide their feminine side, but Barry is setting them free. Gay can become the new black, and they can celebrate together.
Blacks will be out in force to vote for 0bama, especially after getting the order from their church pastors and others in leadership positions. Black leaders hold inordinately powerful sway over their target audience.
In the end, although many are speaking publically against Obama’s gay pride, they will privately get back on the reservation and support the one.
I consider every black voter who voted for his excellency in 08 who does not vote in the coming election as the equal of a half vote for Romney.
His excellency is running scared. Yesterday’s visits to both Arlington and the Wall by a jerk who went golfing or to Chicago the last three memorial days is an indication of how worried he is. Add on the “leaked” piece of his excellency personally reviewing the CIA hit list every day and his doubling down on the GOP’s alleged war on womyn and you know he is worried. He even left the press corpse (sic) in the dust after golf on Saturday to show his displeasure of the recent questioning of his mouth piece.
Black enthusiasm to vote fell from 78 in 2008 to 48 percent now? People, Obama is going to be defeated in a landslide!
I think this reflects not so much blacks changing their minds on gay marriage but rather a “circle the wagons around the brother who’s under attack” mentality.
I can in a way understand that given the history. But this is at a very late date, and Obama is most undeserving.
So gay blacks will be extra super special?
That's my thought, too, and my fervent hope! I think there will be a significant number of black voters who will NOT be as motivated to go to the polls for him in 2012 as they were in 2008. Sure hope they don't show up!
It is very easy to “feel” that blacks will still vote in large numbers for Obama, but facts trump “feelings.”

That's because, when an inner-city resident has a problem with his benefits paperwork, or needs some problem worked out, who does he go to? His pastor (who knows people in the bureaucratic hierarchy), his Democrat precinct captain (likewise), etc. And what's the price for getting your problems sorted out? You better be there on election day.
I suspect the reason for that is the difference between a poll that asks "Do you support gay marriage?" and a poll that asks "Do you support President Obama's gay marriage position".
Most blacks will be saying yes to anything that starts "Do you support President Obama...".
The similarities to our current times is stark.
