Labor and civil rights groups that are not in agreement with the new Alabama immigration law are warning tourists to stay away from the state. The groups say the new tough law will encourage profiling.

On Thursday, in a news conference held over the phone, the coalition leaders said they plan to also have demonstrations in front of all Hyundai car dealerships around the county to encourage the auto manufacturer from South Korea to publically take a stance against the law in Alabama.

I do not know about the rest of you, but I am sick to death of seeing racial profiling, every time we pass laws to combat illegal immigration, all we ever really hear, is how making illegal aliens abide the same laws as everyone else, leads to racial profiling .It seems like whenever a law is passed to address illegal immigration, the first thing we can plan on hearing is, racial profiling. I sure do not think many tourists, will heed Labor and civil rights groups , to stay out Alabama , not when they have the very beautiful Alabama gulf coast. Labor and civil rights groups, I hate to burst your bubble, but I will be at Orange Beach this summer... So protest all you want, but here, it is a no SELL .

I am visiting relatives in AL this summer.

Thanks, Labor and civil rights groups.

Less illegals there will be just fine. I’m sure
your help will bring more desirable people.

We love Foley, Gulf Shores and even kinda rural Lillian where my 92 year old uncle resides. We spent a couple of days in the area three years ago and loved it all.

I call bs on their claim that they’re worried about “profiling”. They’re worried about criminals being caught, as I see it.

SWEET HOME (NEXT DOOR), ALABAMA! NOT A FINER STATE, NOR FINER PEOPLE, NOR MORE BEAUTIFUL BEACHES, NOR MORE INSANE FOOTBALL FANS, NOR BETTER NEIGHBORS. TO HELL WITH THE ANTI-ILLEGAL-IMMIGRATION BED WETTERS! I’LL REALLY GO OUT OF MY WAY FOR ‘BAMA, NOW.

I’d make an honest estimate that this message might convince 100 folks who were planning a vacation in Bama....to skip the state. In exchange....around 3k folks will see the message and probably change their plans....and stay a night or two in Bama. That’s the comical side of this situation.

To be honest, there’s only two things that you really come to Bama to see....Huntsville’s space museum (worth an entire day and kids like it), and the Gulf Shores area. Beyond that....there’s not much for a tourist to stop and see. On the other hand, if you were into boating or fishing....there’s a hundred places in the state worth stopping for a weekend and enjoying a quiet day on a lake or river.

That's the east bay of Mobile, Baldwin County...a conservative stronghold.

Fairhope is to Mobile as Sausalito is to San Francisco.

When you have no reasonable argument, attacking with specious claims is all you have left. I think Alabama should use this boycott as a basis of an ad: Illegals and those who support them are boycotting us. We ask that they gather more like-minded folks and ensure they don't come here either - keep Alabama the Beautiful! If you want a safe, enjoyable, illegal-free and nut-free environment, Alabama is the place to be.

I bet they get more visitors than they lose... I'm in S. MS about 45 minutes from Mobile and there are no issues that I can see to keep folks out.

Alabama has more species of fresh water fish than anywhere else in the world...even the massive Amazon.

Alabama has a large population of Blacks. They are not grooving on illegals. Boycott that and who cares.

We’re fine in Alabama. And yes, there is/was some mumblegrumble between the blacks and the Mexicans. The blacks complained that the Mexicans were taking their jobs.

The jobs they never applied for.

He he. And if whites were not so politically correct, they would be angry about illegals taking over the construction jobs and trades. Not everyone is cut out for college and those who are not but have ambition used to go into the building trades until the illegals took it over.

Perhaps the Blacks are now grumbling about the welfare illegals are getting that Blacks seem to feel is their birthright.

SaraJohnson, I think lately a lot of Americans of all races are getting sick and tried of illegals calling everyone racist, getting sick and tried of the sob stories, fed up with illegals always about me,me,me,me. We have people in America suffering as much hardship as what they do in Mexico. Blacks under Obama have the highest unemployment rate. Illegals took 90% of the jobs blacks and others would do, for they had a limited education, even those jobs are hard to find. Americans are sick and tried do you remember the recent, illegals are filing income tax refunds and claiming up to 20 children with the majority of these children live in Mexico have never even been here or many do not even exist and illegals are filing child tax credits, I think getting refunds from few thousands dollars to the biggest one was about 30,000 dollars. And now they are issuing warnings to Americans to stay out of Alabama, because the illegals are expected to follow the same laws as everybody else. The illegals are robbing and stealing from us , they are breaking our laws, depressing wages, are a drain on our economy and are destroying our infrastructure. One need only look at California to see the future in store for the rest of America.Warning us to steer clear of Alabama. If Americans think like me, we will all be going to Alabama to put the supporters on notice, we don’t care what flag they are waving or where they are going or what they are protesting about. It just makes us want to stand with Alabama even more and we will give them the best tourist season ever. I will be at Orange Beach to spend as much money as I can to help out Alabama. They can take the tourist warnings and shove it.
