The law at the time prohibited this because five years since her 18th birthday had not passed when she gave birth to Dunham/Soetoro/Obama and his father was undisputably a foreign national. This issue concerning the law and his mothers age has been discussed at great length on FR. As well, Article 2 Sect 1 of the US Constitution requires the president to be a natural born citizen not "just" a citizen.
This quandary we see with Soetoro's citizenship isn't something new to presidential qualifications as Chester Alan Arthur was generally accepted as having dual citizenship with Canada and that was pretty big news back then.
I believe you're correct, however if authorities like Arpaio keep seriously investigating and find out the deceiver was ineligible, the fraud and all his cohorts should be pitched forked out of town!
Heck, they don't even have the spine to overrule, or defund, the EPA, Homeland Security, etc. So they will continue to ignore that we have a fraud and impostor for POTUS.
(Effectively, the Constitution is irrelevant to our elected officials and the SCOTUS. Sad to say, as I took a sworn oath to defend the Constitution, and meant every word of the oath.)

The President has released what he purports to be his long form birth certificate. Therefore, there is absolutely no, zero, nada, neitch reason for him to not allow access to the original document on file in Hawaii.
The answer is very simple. The document does not match what has been released by the White House. If it did, Obama would insist that the public have access to the original document and he would insist that the best forensic scientists exam the document. He has done not one of these actions.
The president is a fraud.
It won't matter. The media and the whole establishment is invested in this not being uncovered.
SO MANY QUESTIONS yet not answered. WHERE did he get his H.S. Diploma? HOW could he qualify for a Fullbright Scholarship that is for FOREIGN STUDENTS. When did he come to the USA from Indonesia to go to College? I JUST returned from a class reunion, #50...of the 38 that graduated...21 came back, we remembered stories, laughed..and everyone brought pictures, trivia.. WHERE IS THE OBAMA TRIVIA trail of people who knew him? I MAINTAIN AND DECLARE he was born in Kenya, and before the 1 year limitation for the State Requirements of Hawaii, his mother brought him to register in Hawaii, the new State of 1959..and their law permitted people born elsewhere on the islands to bring their baby to the Capitol for register with little questions asked. HE IS NOT A U.S. Citizen, let’s see his passport!!!!!!
Unfortunately the tabloids have been more accurate in disclosing political scandals and crime than the Washington Post, The New York Times, The LA Times, and all the network television including Fox News.

Possibly....most likely...maybe not...unfortunately, in any event, merely being a citizen is not the Constitutional requirement..... being a natural born citizen is. It’s a matter of language.....a natural born citizen is someone born in a country to parents who are it’s citizens. This is akin to a pedigree dog.
With only one citizen parent Obaqma Jr. isn’t a pedigree pup and and is ineligible to enter AKC events. In short, Obama is a mutt!
The Founders were clearly dog lovers and restricted the Presidency to Pedigreed pooches only! Again, Obama is a mutt!

There is no way to bake, fry, deep fry, boil, steam, pressure cook, or barbeque tripe that makes it ‘good eats’...although that soup......
