NATIONAL DAY OF BLOGGER SILENCE
Reaganite Republican ^ | June 8, 2012 | Reaganite Republican

Posted on 06/08/2012 6:41:42 AM PDT by Reaganite Republican

A National Day of Blogger Silence has been declared in defense of those conservative bloggers targeted by Kimberlin and company's shameful telephone harassment/threats, 'SWATting', and other intimidation techniques favored by today's vicious, underground Left. Republican senators in fact yesterday asked the DOJ to investigate what appears to be a series of felonies aimed right at the voices of today's New Media Right.

Eric Erickson of Red State/CNN, Ace of Spades, Stacy McCain, and Ali @ Hot Air have all been the victims of the so-called 'progressive' movement's shameful, criminal techniques... and my fellow bloggers, I ask you to join us in a day of protest TODAY.

Isn't that what the likes of Kimberlin want? For conservatives to not blog?

Correction: Ace of Spades was not targeted himself (although the day of silence is his idea)... it was an LA County prosecutor who blogs as “Patterico” that was indeed ‘SWAT-ted’ just about a week ago

Uh...silence is self-defeating.

It’s not like anyone reads blogs anyway.

You know, there comes a time when you fight fire with fire. The Left has for too long benefited from Conservative’s sense of “fair play”.

The allies won WWII through mass bombings of civilians, the use of WMDs, and other things, that when taken individually would be immoral by any standards. Taken in context, though, they were just and righteous.

Maybe, just maybe, it’s time to start looking at things in the proper context, and Conservatives need to take the gloves off.

The only fair fight is the one you win.

Lemme get this straight...

You wanna protest the attempted silencing of the right-wing blogosphere, by silencing yourselves?

And people wonder why boycotts are ignorance.

One day isn’t going to help the Left, they’re trying to scare people out of blogging for good

What it CAN do is get a message across to those on The Hill who might be able to do something about it... GOP senators are already pressuring the DOJ to look into all this, but I wouldn’t get my hopes up there- Holder’s surely not interested

Michele Malkin’s also in on it, I’m just supporting the cause here- maybe there would have been other ways to do it, but this one is already in action, so I’ve chosen to support it... maybe some regular readers will take time to contact their congressional representatives instead

The idea is a day of ACTION, no inaction

But not by blogging... I already called my congressman and senator

“It’s not like anyone reads blogs anyway.”

Huh?

Michele Malkin and instapundit both get 150,000 hits/day... that’s 3x Newsweek’s WEEKLY circulation

Even little guys like me do 3000/day, ya know- the media is being chopped up into smaller players as the big, liberal MSM outlets crumble... many would have been gone already without Obama’s bailouts/porkulus money. The future is many more sources ran through various aggregators, Drudge showed the way on that.

We conservatives should welcome the death of the Dinosaur Media... the thousand points of light emanating from the blogosphere cannot be silenced, THUS the violence and threats we are now seeing... they are desperate as hopenchange implodes

Due primarily to your free exposure here on FR.

I note some ads on your blog. How much of that ad revenue do you contribute to FR for the exposure?

I will, however, give you credit for not excerpting.

This places you many rungs above standard blogpimps.
