I was just thinking about the horrendous storms pounding DC now, in light of the week we just witnessed there.
God doesn’t save the collective. God saves the individual souls.
I agree completely. I have known this for quite some time and it all boils down to idolatry. We raise up idols in the form of objects, celebrities, sports teams and they all take precedence over God. How many people skip church because they need to be at the game by 1 pm? Or they have a conflicting tee time? How many know that homosexuality is bad, but are swayed by a celebrity? We have so many golden idols that we’re blinded by them. We even fill our churches with them. We make a large donation to buy a piano and we expect to have a plaque placed in a prominent place dedicating it our dead grandma, but everyone know where the money came from, right?
Israel worshipped idols and God punished them for it over and over again. We certainly aren’t any better than they were, and we don’t deserve any more second chances than they deserved.
The drought of good, sound Biblical preaching in our churches is one of the signs of a nation under God’s judgement...and that has been true for a long time.
When the church of God is strong the nation is strong.
When the church of God is weak and compromising the nation suffers.
When the people of a nation draw near to God there is freedom, when the people of a nation fall away from God there is Tyrany.
God is punishing the good because some are bad?
What a load of crap.
Maybe I’ve missed something along the way - Could you show me one example of the people voting for homosexuality? I’ve seen fiat decisions by representatives and plenty by the courts, as well as executive declarations, but the people, when asked, have uniformly rejected homosexuality time and time again.
Why do people who write things like this always use the word "we"? We have taken God out of our daily lives? Oh really?
What you really mean is "they," so use that word. Don't ask me to take on the guilt of others. And don't you dare you suggest that God is going to punish the faithful for the sins of a minority.
By the way, if you think this country is faithless, you haven't traveled much. We're one of the last bastions of faith in the world, and God isn't through with us yet. To suggest otherwise is truly being faithless.

Your title is about God “removing His favor”. I suppose another way of saying it is that He has given up the country to depravity (homo). Regardless of the votes of the people, the homo-promo agenda is advancing full steam due to courts, etc.
While we obviously cannot read the mind of the Good Lord I would not be surprised if he withdrew. The rot that has overtaken this country and its people in my life time is hard to believe.
I understand where you are coming from. I’ve had these same thoughts for a while now. In fact, I’ve gone so far as to wonder just how long He is going to put up with us as a nation. Fortunately I know my future is secure no matter what comes.
I watch this program called Wretched in the middle of the
night everyday M-F. The host (Todd Friel) was saying the
same thing. This makes me pray for the grace to accept
God’s will and to not be depressed about how vile and low
the nation’s leaders have become.
God started to remove His Hand of GRACE from our country after ABORTION was made legal and 45-50 MILLION BABIES have been killed, the Homosexuality has been HONORED and REWARDED and almost DEIFIED, and in the mean time we have ALLOWED God and Jesus to be KICKED OUT OF THIS COUNTRY.....what does one expect?????

“Thou shalt in any wise set him king over thee, whom the LORD thy God shall choose; one from among thy brethren shalt thou set king over thee; thou mayest not set a STRANGER over thee, which is NOT thy BROTHER.” (cap emphasis-mine.)
(kinda sums up Barry, Little Stevie Dunham, Barry Soetoro, Barry Obama, Barak Hussein Obama...the guy we know so little about, except his moslem faith.)

We've always been under assault, that's the nature of the world and of humans, but we all have and have always had the ultimate weapon.
When we chose to turn away, and when we began to embrace what was to be shunned, we broke the deal and the protection and grace we as a nation enjoyed was removed.
That's when things really began to accelerate downhill.
There are rules to this world and consequences to our choices. We are choosing to break them and are flaunting it.
Fortunately, we are loved and are being shown warning signs, harbingers, if you will, as in Isaiah 9:10.
These are the wake up calls from the front desk and we slept through the first few.
The question before us is whether or not we wake up enough to answer it now or die in our sleep.
