Jobless Claims Fall to … December 2011 Levels: 14k Fewer Claims and 12.72 MILLION Unemployed?

As of May, there are 12,720,000 people in the United States who are unemployed. According to the Labor Department, applications for jobless benefits decreased by 14,000 in the week ended June 30 to 374,000.

We are supposed to get excited about 14,000 fewer applications for jobless benefits when 12,720,000 remain unemployed?

And the initial jobless claims are still at early December 2011 levels indicating the labor market really isn’t recovering.

Remember, more people are going on disability than are dropping off unemployment rolls.

It is difficult to have a sustainable recovery when the Federal government insists on a staggering increase in regulations and taxes.

And let’s see how this plays out when the 20+ Obamacare taxes kick in with the expiration of the Bush tax cuts.

While today’s jobless claims are better than expected, it is much the New York Mets in their inaugural 1962 season winning their 40th game (while losing 120 games).

The only article I have seen today that call ‘BS’ on the Obama media job claims that happy days are here again.

Nice summary by this guy about the misleading jobless claims "improvement."

The only thing he missed is that we still being 125,000 NEW LEGAL workers (green cards and guest workers) into the US each month!

It’s called “cooking the books”, and every administration does it because they know the American public won’t bother to check their numbers.
