A google search using the term, “McCain voters say they wished they’d voted Obama” shows about 7,450,000 items, but searching through them yields not a single article about voters feeling this way.

When most people are asked, “We all know people who voted for Obama and say they wished they had voted for McCain, but where are the people who say they voted for McCain but wish they had voted for Obama?” they start laughing.

By now we have all heard the public “secular confessions” of the Barack Obama supporters who wish they hadn’t done what they did. These people feel a need to confess their sin so some intelligent voter can pat them on the head and say, “It’s alright, you meant well.” Of course it’s not alright, so the legions of “Obama Vote Regreters” (OVRs) seems to be growing.

Stories about OVRs like the one recently posted by The Des Moines Register are rare. How stark does the picture have to be to force the media to talk about cracks in their king’s armor? Pretty bad is the answer, and that’s what the situation is in Iowa where just four years ago Barack Obama cruised to a land slide victory.

The Register’s small but telling surveyed talked to 23 self- identified 2008 Obama voters including Republicans, Democrats Independents and found an astounding 18 said they would definitely not vote for Obama in November.

What’s worse for Obama is that each of these OVRs had a different reason for turning away from him.

One a “longtime Democrat” who has come to understand what a serious mistake she has made felt it necessary to “confess” her sin.

I've been saying this for the past 3 years- where ARE the McCain voters who're saying, "Gee, I'm so glad Obama was elected President that I'm voting for him in 2012". There were plenty of Carter voters who voted for Reagan in 1984 (including David Horowitz), and even a handful of 1992 Bush voters who voted for Clinton in 1996.

The only voting base Obama has left are guilty white liberals and black women- and the only reason black women like Obama is because he's married to Michelle.

Do your search again. Look at the very top of the Google search. I predict you will get ZERO hits. What you are looking at is the same search without the quotes. Not very meaningful.

Plus his opponent is weak. People are not voting FOR What's His Name they are voting AGAINST Obama - nothing will change that.

I never used any of those silly arguments, but I do recall saying something along the lines of: "Vote for somebody you can stand, and if Obama gets elected [which, admittedly, I didn't think would happen] then, instead of being a country of frogs getting boiled slowly, we'll have the flames turned on high, and maybe people will finally wake up and realize that our government has gone rogue."

I don't think my assessment was wrong, although it sucks to watch it actually happen. With McCain in office, though, I am certain that most of the BS that has gone on the last 3.5 year would still have happened (bailouts, amnesty, unprosecuted Wall Street shenanigans). The only difference is that our traitor media would have been hanging it all on the necks of Republicans on a daily basis.

It's the same guy who nominated Romney and Reagan and every other Republican candidate - a plurality of GOP primary voters.

There is not some grand conspiracy - there's an inconsistency in the GOP electorate. Well, they've grown more consistent since Reagan - consistently shunning conservatives for moderates.

Yet holding our noses and voting the lesser of two evils has only caused the GOP to foist increasingly liberal candidates on us.

If you hold you nose and vote Romney, one of several things happen:

1. Romney loses anyway; the GOP-e concludes they didn't move close enough to "the middle" (see 2008 to 2012)
2. Romney wins, and reverts to his liberal past; damaging the casual person's view of Conservatism, further entrenching the "they're all the same" attitude in the voter pool
3. Romney wins, and remains kinda conservative but compromises enough to try to appease both sides; we see a slowing of the slide but it is not fully arrested, again damaging the casual voter's view of Conservatism
4. Romney wins, and chooses to follow a different path than he has his entire political career; he sticks to his conservative rhetoric of today and does not flip-flop, even if it risks his chances in 2016.

What you you honestly think the odds are on each of those scenarios?

One thing that will not occur is that the GOP gets the "NO MORE RINO" message. And I will be called an Obama SUPPORTER for even writing this.

Uh, sorry, a google search of “McCain voters say they wished they’d voted Obama” yields 4 hits, and ALL four of those are copies of the original article that makes this bogus claim. In fact, their are ZERO hits of this particular phrase if you discount the article making the claim.

In 2008, I made the mistake of voting for McCain. Like many frustrated conservatives, I bought into the pitch that it was important to vote for McCain in order to attempt to prevent the election of Obama.

Because conservatives voted for McCain, elitists like Karl Rove have become convinced that conservatives can be counted upon to vote for any moderate or liberal that is nominated by the GOP. In other words, because conservatives voted for McCain, we got Romney as the nominee this time.

There is only one way to end this cycle. Conservatives need to vote against (and be seen to vote against) Romney or any other liberal that GOP elitists put forward. If conservatives openly reject and refuse to vote for and support Romney in 2012, the GOP will be forced to nominate a conservative in 2016.
