Yes, it’s a coverup and money laundering situation. They needed something to mask their true intentions that people in the West would buy into.
One of the biggest problems in all this is that the AGW folks have plowed MILLIONS into 'education', and through seminars for teachers have perpetuated the myth, and literally brainwashed an entire generation of schoolkids into believing that using reusable bags when shopping will save the earth. Now, I don't have a problem using reusable bags; it reduces the amount of trash I have to deal with in my home, but I have no illusions that anything I do is going to either kill or save the earth.
It is indicative of the poor state of science education in this country that people actually believe in AGW. They don't have an understanding of the mechanisms of the climate with which to refute the arguments, so they thing the folks pushing the myth must be telling the truth. They especially are susceptible to the 'Big Oil' versus the 'poor environmentalists' notions, because many folks in this country tend to favor the underdogs.
