College organization redoubles efforts to remove Chik-fil-A from campuses

In just a few short weeks, the Chick-fil-A culture wars may gravitate toward college campuses as students across the country return to class.

Campus Pride -- the largest organization of LGBT college students nationwide -- says that it intends to use Chick-fil-A president Dan Cathy's recent comments as leverage in its decade-long effort to remove the fast-food chain from college campuses.

"A lot of things have happened recently to educate college students about this company's activities. When they get back on campus, there's going to be even more direct action taking place," says Shane Windmeyer, the executive director of Campus Pride. "We want to let students know that every time they buy Chick-fil-A, they're supporting a company that funds hate groups."

Campus Pride has long opposed Chick-fil-A because of WinShape, a nonprofit founded by the Cathy family in 1984. Over the years, WinShape has given money to various anti-gay groups, including the Family Research Council -- which, as Windmeyer points out, is designated as a hate group by the Southern Poverty Law Center.

Campus Pride also intends to challenge food services contractors that offer Chick-fil-A on campuses. And the group will likely gain some traction there: Two of the three major providers -- Aramark and Sodexo -- are considered LGBT-friendly corporations by the Human Rights Campaign, and both seem to value that status.

"What Dan Cathy said, actually, I think he has every right to say. I think he has every right to own a business. In fact, I'm so glad he has finally come out as anti-gay. It makes it easier for people to choose between his company and others," says Windmeyer. "But consumers also have the right to know what groups his company funds. It's kind of funny that the same company that sells chicken with cows also claims to be Christian, yet funds hate groups. So I think they are very confused."

sn’t it funny (snix) that only recently all these “tolerant and compassionate liberals” were whining and whimpering about “free speech”......and that they were being left out.

At one time gays whimpered about being stuck in the closet-—all they wanted was to “come out.”

Yeah that is 'funny'. But what's not funny is something I found Saturday by accident when searching through those 'juicy links' I told you about on the 'Rahm's Family Values' thread.

It was only 2005, seven short years ago that Lawrence v Texas was decided by SCOTUS which made buggery (cough-gag) 'legal' in the USA and its territories. And back at that time the gays cried and moaned that .......

"They only wanted the government out of their bedrooms and would NEVER push for gay marriage."

I was kind of surprised that is was only 2005. It sure seems like eons ago. But one thing's for sure, the gays were lying through their teeth. And they cannot be trusted in anything they say, ever. We've went from; 'out of the closet to in our face', at Light-speed.

Now these groups are fire-breathing hate groups seeking revenge....launching violent jihad on those who dare “speak” their sincere beliefs. To these haters “free speech” means their free speech. ...in their sick minds no one else has the right.

You're right on this Liz - and it's time for all of us to quit thinking of these bullies as victims. It's time for them to grant 'free speech' to those who disagree with THEM... Liberal elites are hypocrites... hateful hypocrites.

When the USSC ruled in 2005 "rear entry buggery" was legal, gays said "They only wanted the government out of their bedrooms and would NEVER push for gay marriage." ....... They were lying through their teeth. And they cannot be trusted in anything they say.......

Another key turning point was when the prestigious Johns Hopkins' (via Dr John Money) removed homosexuality as a psychological disorder. From all we now now---gayness is a sickness that can lead to savagery and visciousness.

You will never get the media to note that most serial killers are gay.
