Obama the Great Leader

The principle of the Great Leader was established in 1917 when Vladimir Lenin came to power in Russia after the Bolshevik coup. With personal control over the Russian media and police, Lenin built his cult of personality and annihilated his opponents. When Lenin died in 1924, his grateful nation resurrected the ancient Egyptian ritual of having his body mummified. His remains are still propped up against the Kremlin wall in Moscow.

Adolf Hitler brought the Great Leader principle to a new height, one that will, God willing, never again be attempted. Hitler not only controlled the German media and police but he used sophisticated sensory techniques to control the minds and emotions of the German masses. Both Lenin and Hitler utilized conspiracy theories against scapegoats to inflame their followers and consolidate their power.

The Great Leader principle was emulated by Lenin’s and Hitler’s ideological successors, Josef Stalin, Mao tse Tung, Fidel Castro, Kim Il Sung, Ho Chi Minh, and every Communist dictator ever since. The cult of personality runs hand in hand with the utopian goal of creating an earthly paradise. The leader, who is without exception anti-religious, is presented as the savior and redeemer of his country. In every case, the Great Leader centralized authority which caused poverty and in some cases the murder of millions. The Great Leader always lives in luxury off the expropriated wealth of others.

Less radical Great Leaders imitated Lenin and Hitler including Benito Mussolini, Francisco Franco, Kemal Ataturk, Juan Peron, Abdel Nasser, Saddam Hussein and Muammar al-Gadhafi. Many African, Asian, and Latin American leaders were influenced by Lenin and Hitler as they centralized power under the cult of personality.

Americans have always rejected the Great Leader principle. The American idea of leadership was expressed in the Declaration of Independence:

We hold these truths to be self-evident, that all men are created equal, that they are endowed by their Creator with certain unalienable Rights that among these are Life, Liberty and the pursuit of Happiness.

For Americans, rights come from the creator, not from the state as personified by the Great Leader. This makes America the exceptional nation. This universal principle is available to all nations because it is self-evident and true. George Washington was respected for his accomplishments not worshiped for who he was. Many on the left have tried to venerate Franklin D. Roosevelt and, after his assassination, John F. Kennedy as Great Leaders but the deification has had limited success. The left often venerates its own leaders. Perhaps this tendency might emanate from lack of faith in God.

President Barack Obama is the closest thing to a Great Leader than has ever occurred before in America. Never before has an American President had such a worshipful following. Leftists, his core supporters, support him for understandable reasons as his authoritarian policies and his specific and identifiable goals to transform America match their agenda.

Yet what makes Obama close to being a Great Leader is his support among well-meaning and moderate Americans, many of whom are young people, who are drawn to his demagogic promises of hope and change and other aspects of his rhetoric that constitute classic Great Leader talk. The Obama phenomenon is exacerbated by his mediocre record as president, mediocre as the term is conventionally defined. Particularly telling is the Orwellian phenomena of Obama railing against bailouts and corporate corruption while covering up billion dollar scandals at MF Global, Goldman Sacks, and Morgan Stanley. Obama railing against mortgage fraud while covering up for MERS. Obama complaining about the rich while, in 2008, receiving more financial support from Wall Street than any presidential campaign in history.

Governor Mitt Romney is a more conventional leader, one who is cut of classic American cloth. He has no cult following, he makes no pretensions regarding changing the world, and he obviously has no major media mandarins crafting an image for him as a “Great Leader.” Indeed, the main criticism the media has of Romney is that he is not well liked. Governor Mitt Romney and his running mate, seven term congressman Paul Ryan, are normal people who seem to understand the American ethos of rugged individualism. They get the idea that rights come from the creator, not from the state headed by a divine and transforming Great Leader.

Interesting factoid I have picked up about Lenin is that when he was in the process of dying, parts of his body began to decay while he was still conscious and he smelled really bad. The only people they could get to take care of him were some Catholic nursing nuns. The evening of his death the people of that city where he died, heard ungodly howls that really freaked them out mainly because no one knew what direction they were coming from or even what kind of an animal was making all that noise. And, the reason why they decided to embalm him was because as they were pillaging Russia they stole from churches, and ended up with the bodies of numerous saints who had died and whose bodies were totally incorrupt, flexible and with no odor. Well, they could not let those Christians best them at all. So they decided to embalm the heck out of Lenin's body. And, by gosh they were going to make him a saint any way they could, even to the point of mimicking what is considered by the Catholic Church to be Godly miracles.

This is well-expressed. Thanks for posting.

That so many Americans are ignorant of this sort of history is what is disturbing here. To see Americans naively play the role of Useful Idiots, and have no idea what happens to Useful idiots under Great Leaders once power is consolidated, is frightening.

Equally as frightening is the historical reality that Great Leaders never peacefully relinquish the reins of power. Our nation, as we have known it, is not likely to survive the next few months.

I’m blowing off steam.
Just found out a neighbor who underwent a mastectomy in the past couple of days has a husband who JUST got laid off from
a construction company. The company warned employees that they would have to fold if Bath-House Barry got re-elected (re-installed), but, business has been SO bad this year, that they’ve decided to close immediately.

She still has Chemo and reconstructive surgery to go through and doesn’t know if they’ll be able to afford it.

Barry has blood on his hands and always has.

I hope the “Great Leader” chokes on whatever he puts in his mouth tomorrow...food, or...otherwise.

I often tell people on the Left this simple question: what is a viable alternative to capitalism?

We've already tried one failed alternative: Communism. Ask elderly survivors of the former Soviet Union under Stalin and China under Mao or anyone older than 35 who remembers Communist rule in Eastern Europe--they will remember the days when one-party rule, a tightly controlled mass media, and brutal state police resulted in (in my best guess) close to 200 million dead from misguided Communist policies from the time of the Bolshevik revolution to the fall of the Soviet Union in 1991.

And I am a personal witness to that horror, too. I was in Hong Kong as a small child in 1967, living in fear as Communist sympathizers terrorized the then-British colony with riots and the placement of homemade bombs on the streets. It was only the direct intervention of the British military that put a stop to these riots. A more fearful note: the military commander of the Guangzhou Region of the People's Liberation Army in 1967, Huang Yongsheng, actually suggested China invade Hong Kong, but Premier Zhou Enlai--who in retrospect wielded his influence to stop the worst aspects of the Cultural Revolution--thankfully turned down the idea, since such an invasion could have triggered off World War III.

Now you know why I am staunchly conservative in many of my views.
