Akin: Hyenas in the GOP ignore medical science, eat their own
Rightly Concered Blog on American Family Association ^ | 8/22/2012 | Bryan Fischer

Posted on 08/22/2012 7:43:13 PM PDT by JediJones

The slavering, slobbering hyenas in the Republican party, by tearing at the flesh of their own senatorial candidate Todd Akin, are doing their best to blow their shot at taking control of the Senate. By eating their own, they are consuming themselves. And they seem too brainless to know it.

If he loses this race, it will be the fault of party poobahs, not Todd Akin. One of the party leaders actually suggested last night that the GOP try to run a third-party challenge to their own candidate. That would be a certifiably guaranteed way to forfeit victory to the opposition.

Akin’s words, for which he apologized even though he had no need to, were right. He was entirely correct to say that pregnancies in cases of forcible rape are rare.

He did not, by the way, say that pregnancy was impossible in rape, just rare.

How about the New York Times, the Bible of [left-wingers]? “Lowering Stress Improves Fertility Treatment.”

Said Dr. Domar, “If you’re really stressed out and depressed, the body seems to sense that’s not a good time to get pregnant.” Hmm. Sound suspiciously like the body shutting down, no?

Todd Akin uses one word that was grossly misinterpreted by his enemies, and the members of his own party throw his carcass to the jackals.

Now that Akin has decided to stay in...as he should, ignoring the hysterical bellows and the pitchforks, the ruling class Republicans will have to eat some crow and reverse themselves by resuming support for Akin’s candidacy. Certainly they cannot be so stupid as to commit hari-kiri by withholding help because they’re in some kind of snit. Can they?

The lesson from all of this: if you’re a Republican, and you want a friend in the party, you’d better buy a dog.

Part of that is that Clear Channel (Rush, Ingraham, Hannity, Levin..) is owned by Bain Capital.

Now that's interesting --

You can always put a little salve on the wound, or if it is fatal you can have a dignified funeral. The reaction of the Republicans has encouraged the media to keep this one alive. By condemning and dumping Akin did the Republicans really believe the leftist media and the socialist party would let the thing go? No way! Even if Akin had dropped out the media would have still referred to him as an example of what Republicans really think about rape and women. His remaining in the race is really not going to change that.

What you say here needs to be made perfectly clear to those asking for Akin's head on a platter. Even if he goes away, it will not go away. It will still have to be dealt with.

Akin’s “gaffe” will not “be forgotten in weeks”. Only political neophytes can think that this is a GOP-inspired debacle. The DemoMarxists fed this single-issue career pol his $, got him votes, and did reverse psych marketing to advance him in the GOP primary. Their sole reason for diverting scarce resources and energy to Akin’s GOP campaign was to use this imbecile as the poster boy for the “GOP’s War on Women”. And good ol’ Todd was only happy to step up and play. Think I’m way off base? Have you seen how many house and senate Dem candidates, let alone Obamugabe, are bringing up Akin by name and tying him to their GOP opponents? How about the DemoMarxists revamping their convention speaker list to essentially make their convention a Planned Parenthood meeting? Look, I supported Newt Gingrich in this race and I’m no fan of Romney or the Rove wing of the GOP. But, in this case, they’re correct - and they’re not alone - tried and true conservatives, seeing the impending doom Akin is going to bring on the entire party (and, moreover, the entire nation) have echoed the GOPe. And, if your main political issue is protecting unborn life, be real - think of what Akin is doing. By staying in the race and keeping the issue of rape/abortion/etc front and center - thus diverting attention away from what the Marxists are doing to our country - Akin is only increasing the chances of the Dems retaining control of the Senate, perhaps losing the House and keeping an untethered Obamugabe in the White House for what will be the worst 4 years in our country’s history. And, what will happen to the prolife cause? Well, Reid/McCaskill and colleagues will gladly support Obamugabe’s 2 or 3 additions of pro-infanticide justices to the Supreme Court for their lifetime appointments.
Thanks, Todd, you’ve done a great service to your constituents, your state , your country and the millions more babies who will be aborted. But, “you’re a fighter” and “you stood on your principles” against the evil wascally Wepublicans!

I'm counting down the days until he stands down and John Brunner or Sarah Steelman are giving the chance to rescue this seat from his incompetence.

That won't happen. The party establishment have had other plans for that seat for quite some time that did not include the three who ran for it. Here from the Post Dispatch March 2012:

Post-Dispatch: “A group of influential Republicans headed by former Sen. John Danforth and fundraisining dynamo Sam Fox are pressing state auditor Tom Schweich to join the already crowded primary contest for Missouri’s GOP nomination for the Senate....The[ir] letter demonstrates a lack of faith in the potential of the trio of GOP contestants vying to take on McCaskill, whose vulnerabilities have showed up in public and private polls. Former state Treasurer Sarah Steelman, of Rolla, U.S. Rep. Todd Akin, of Wildwood, and wealthy St. Louis businessman John Brunner are competing to challenge McCaskill.”

Got the picture now???

“It’s very adaptive to not be wasting resources on reproduction during times of acute stress, to just shut down reproduction for 24 hours or so until the stress is gone,” said co-author Daniela Kaufer, a UC Berkeley assistant professor of integrative biology who looks at how stress affects molecular processes in the brain.

He doesn't understand the meaning of the word "acute". Either that or he doesn't think that rape causes acute stress that can inhibit reproduction.

I'll make you a bet, if Todd Akin is the winner on Election Day this year and becomes the Senator from MO, I'll publicly admit you were right and leave FreeRepublic forever, now if he doesn't win, can I trust you to do the same???

Not much of an offer coming from a one issue troll who signed up 07-07-2012 to try to unseat a longtime conservative. You aren't planning to be around much longer anyway and certainly not after election day, are you???

quack doctors like Willke who have no credibility in medical science.

You mean a leader of the prolife movement whose endorsement Romney sought and received for his 2008 run.

<>I find it amazing that I’ve posted literally dozens of statements from doctors<>

Perhaps these doctor are not speaking from personal experience but were influenced to make those statements by a flawed study.

After all it all depends upon the meaning of the word “rare” and where a certain 32,100 rape/pregnancy figure came from, doesn’t it???

Perhaps the poster below can set you and these physicians straight on the matter:

http://www.freerepublic.com/focus/news/2921696/posts?page=69#58

“This study suffers from a number of flaws. It is based on telephonic surveys, not medical or police records. The n of 34 is an extremely small sample size on which to be basing any kind of conclusions. The description that most of the victims were adolescents who knew their attackers suggests to me that many of them were involved in statutory rape (in which case it may have been consensual, but was rape under legal definition)...”

When I heard it the first time, and he said “legitimate rape” he seemed to be saying that some might falsely report a rape for purposes of getting an abortion.

Now that’s controversial itself, but different than the narrative we’re hearing.

So I think that “legitimate rape” was supposed to mean “someone who was really raped” as opposed to “someone who was NOT really raped”.

But what if a 17-year-old meets a 15 year-old at a party, and she says she’s 17, they have consensual sex, and then the kids gets convicted of statuatory rape?

Should the punishment be the same? How about abortion?

Akins has shot himself in the head but refuses to fall over. This clown could *litterally* cost us both the Senate *and* the White House.

Stupak and his pals will always have to answer for OsamaObamaCare....this clown just might have far *more* to answer for come November if he doesn't withdraw

NOW!!!

It seems there are a lot of people visiting FR who hate Christians and Conservatives...

This has *nothing* to do with the "hatred" of either. It has everything to do with cold, hard political reality.

Fact #1:The overwhelming majority of "undecideds" in this country are brain dead fools.

Fact #2:A huge majority of these fools voted for Osama Obama and other Rats in '08.

Fact #3:If we fail to flip a huge perecntage of those undecideds this year we're toast....a complete wipeout, top to bottom, front to back.

Fact #4:Rats nationwide, including Osama Obama himself, will run with this nationwide.Do have have the imagination required to picture the ads that they'll run? I do.

Fact #5:None of these fools are gonna spend 5 seconds considering medical data, regardless of how convincing it might be.All they'll hear is "legitimate rape",over, and over, and over again in every Rat ad they see/hear/read.

Those are the ugly facts of politics today.

"Just what we need, Akin Truthers."

Just what we need . . . a rabid, frothing-at-the-mouth, scandal monger, who can't stand the slightest deviation from the DC Beltway party insider talking point of the moment.

The Republican Establishment likewise never wanted Angel, Palin, Bachmann, Samuel Wurzelbacher (Joe the Plumber), Arpaio, and a whole host of other Conservative Republicans and Tea Partiers, including Paul Ryan. I suppose saying this makes me an Angel, Palin, Bachmann, Samuel Wurzelbacher, Arpaio, Ryan Truther?

Save your buggery little smears for the 0bamatrons.

Say! Wait a moment! Maybe that's what you are. An 0bamatron looking to make trouble for Conservatives in a Conservative forum.

The truth is, the Republican Party bulls have never cared much for Conservatives (or conservative Christians), only grudgingly accepting their support if they gave them (the party bulls) their money and their vote, and otherwise sat down in the corner and shut up. This has been true going back to Hoover, Wilkie, Landon, Dewey, Scranton, Rockefeller, and a whole host of their modern reincarnations following.

The truth is, the Republican Party bulls never cared much for Reagan either, only accepting him because he brought them access to WH power. Guess that makes me a "Reagan Truther" too.

Go back to DU and ask them for new ideas. What you're doing, ain't working.

The way the GOP and Romney have treated conservatives/prolifers/Ev Christians since the primary started, has made it obvious they are willing to lose much of the base to maybe grab some liberals. They treat those who helped build the party like outsiders. We are to shut up and do as we are told so they can move left, closer to the socialist party. They are no longer the party of principal, only the party to do whatever it takes to win, including trying to scare gullible Republicans into believing that the world will end if obama wins. Most of us do our research and look at who we are voting for. That is why we did not Romney. He lied about being extremely prolife, and is now for gay abortion for innocent babies because their bio dads were criminals. They do everything they knew would anger us. We don't need them, THEY need us, but they are losing a lot of us quickly. I know my friends and family in mo said the GOP & Romney need to stay out of mo voters business. They don't want the GOP picking their candidate like they did Romney.

What is worse; a guy who lied about being conservative to win, who cheated and fixed states with the help of the GOP and friends in various states to win power FOR HIMSELF, who gave campaign contributions to politicians who endorsed him, who has no foundation or strong convictions to stand on or a guy who fumbled a few sentences and apologized for? It's been the GOP and there paid radio talk show entertainers (who work for clear channel that is owned by Bain capital) who are rabidly taking out a prolife conservative Christian. They have been worse than the left on him and are keeping it going. They sent there minions out to the blogisphere to intimidate and ridicule anyone who doesn't bend to their wishes. Check out the really outrageous posters here who only arrived in the last few months. There is noting like being manipulated is there?

When the voting public is over 50% prolife vs 42% somewhat proabortion and only 25% strongly proabortion makes no sense. This is the perfect opportunity to show how cruel and heartless the left especially Obama is. He is not just for abortion up to 9 months, but infanticide and we have that on tape. We have the left refusing to allow babies who are going to be aborted get pain med as that might make them appear human. This is such common sense ideas that would be easy to paint them with that you have to wonder why they don't. Could it be that they want a abortion too. Play both sides of the fence like they are with romney vs the party platform They have already moved in that direction with Romney. When it's official you can watch a mass exodus to a third party. I watched people last night who use to argue with me that I should hold my nose and vote Romney say they had enough of the GOP and Romney.

If people think that the left doesn't have trash on Romney they will wait and use when it's too late to get another nominee, they're naive.

When you are explaining, you are losing.

We get that, and no one's saying Akin won this week. Doesn't mean he can't recover and do better in the next 10 weeks. Big difference if he truly did something wrong or even lied. But he didn't. He just made a verbal gaffe like most politicians do. And the common voter on the street isn't going to crucify him for it the way Washington elites are.

The killing of babies really gets old. The only thing that doesn’t get old is the innocent child. Do these women prosecute these criminal “rapes”. I say let’s only kill the babies if mommy goes to trial on the “rape” That will cut it way down. Ok?

HAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHA

You are delusional. Akin is down 10 points and falling like a rock. He could have done the Honorable thing so the Party could gain a Senate Seat and a Majority, but he believes his own BS. You can't fix stupid, but Akin is giving it his best. The more he “explains” his position, the worse it is.

If he sticks it out I'm sure we'll be pulling for him, but it looks likes Akin Radioactivity has already spread far and wide. Who knows how many Republicans will be glowing in the dark by the time Akin fulfills his “look at me” fantasy tour.

You're in luck, the Clue Store is open late for FReepers who are experiencing Akin Denial Syndrome.

Tell them I sent you and you get the Buy One Clue, get the second Clue for half price special.

Funny you should mention DU. They probably agree with you on this 100%.
