It has not been done before. The general wisdom is that you don't attack people who buy ink by the barrel. This "general wisdom" no longer obtains, for it is no longer "general" nor "wise." The media is a biased as it's going to be, and things will only get worse through November. Despite the rise of the New Media, the MSM is still having a massive influence on coloring coverage of this election. And they have to be stopped now - they have to become the story. Consider...
According to Breitbart:
Among voters watching the Republican National Convention itself, 67% of voters had a more favorable impression. However, among voters who are only watching the nightly news coverage of the RNC, 72% had a less favorable impression. It should be noted that the poll was conducted before Paul Ryan's acceptance speech last night, so these results should be considered preliminary. That said, the difference between those who watched the convention and those who simply watched the news of the convention is striking.
Is there a list of sponsors for these networks?
Please provide us with a list of major advertisers for the MSM. I am 74 and I have a lot of time on my hands which could be used to write letters to lots of companies, telling them of my dissatisfaction with the way they spend their advertising dollars. There must be other old folks like me who would like to fight back. Thanks.
“Heres an idea. Dress up like ass-holes and demonstrate in front of the New York Times building.”
Not a good idea. We could be mistaken for the editorial board of the slimes.
Thanks for your active enthusiasm freepers. This war is just starting. I’m going through your feedback and will do an Action - Part II tomorrow. Game on! We won’t let this stand!
MSM BUST EM DON’T TRUST EM. I will not buy a newspaper period. I will not watch CNN, MSNBC, NBC, ABC, CBS. If I catch them spinnng, lying, withholding, fabricating, I will get in their face.
I mean, how many of us will put ourselves through the torture of watching MSNBC's wall-to-wall coverage of Charlotte next week? No. We'll watch Bret Baier's reports and we won't be impressed.
Youa re absolutely correct. If the Republican establishment who just raise their voices like the Democrats do and call out the MSM anytime they see a bias or false reporting, this would end!
Problem is, we the little peeps dont have the Bully Pulpit...
sorry for the typos...
Interesting choice of words but be careful.
Just posted on another thread re the topic of watching
the convention speeches online via cspan.
The solution is simple-cancel your cable service.
I realize it’s a sacrifice. I miss some stuff. Sometimes
the battle for whats right requires sacrifice.
There are many alternative ways to see shows and movies.
There are was to see sports.
Nobody needs their news READ to them from the cable idiots
Try it for a month or two. You’ll see. And enjoy that extra money, too!
this is important, no use to logging on and then complaining and never doing anything
What we really need is a “Truth” Amendment that allows for anyone able to proove that the media is broadcasting lies or distortions of facts can sue and if the media is found guilty, penalized by the size of the audience lied or distorted to. This penalty would also include EQUAL apologetic treatment to whichever lie or distortion of fact was issued, including as well, rebuttal time for those harmed by what the media did.
If this amendment idea doesn’t seem workable or passable, then the next avenue of approach should involve class-action lawsuits based upon voting rights being infringed through intentional fraudulent presentation or avoidance of the facts.
Another way to solve this is to get rid of the FCC and allow anyone to broadcast. The truth will always win out over the lies.
Anything less would be insufficient. Widespread accumulation of shares by thinking conservatives is necessary. It would take time gaining control at stockholders meetings, over several years. Founders never expected this kind of situation. Read Jacques Ellul book "Technique of Propaganda" written before modern age. Need up to date analysis of this problem.
Boycotts and stuff like that are not powerful enough. Ownership and management control of media companies is necessary.
