Pro-Life Dems Are Like Stalker ex-Boyfriends
National Catholic Register ^ | 9/5/2012 | Patrick Archbold

Make no mistake, the meeting of pro-life Democrats was only near the Democrat National Convention and not at it.

A group of pro-life Democrats gathered in a hotel near the convention the way that a teenage boy stalks the house of the girl who dumped him, with love unrequited.

This year not a single pro-life Democrat was allowed to speak at the convention, a convention that adopted the most radical pro-abortion plank possible while at the same time expunging any mention of God. I think God is happy that at least they have stopped pretending. But the pro-lifers in the party still won't take no for an answer.

They gathered for a panel discussion in a hotel conference room. The board of Democrats for Life of America present includes two former U.S Representatives and a smattering of academics, but not one sitting elected pro-life Democrat. Yet they still don't get the message.

Among the former U.S. Representatives is the notorious Bart Stupak, the man who cut the deal with President Obama to support Obamacare in exchange

Pro-life Democrats have been lied to, cheated on, abused, and dumped. And yet they still say they love the party? Why?

Stupid, stupid Stupak. Cry me a river, you idiots, I couldn’t care less. If you can’t see what the Democratic Party has become, you are beyond help.

Because they are socialists first, pro-life second.

I think the ‘pro-life retreat’ it’s for show only. If these persons truly value life, if they truly appreciate what is at stake here.... then they will demand to be at the convention, they will fight for human life, or they will leave their party.

Since this doesn’t occur, I see NOTHING to suggest that being pro-life is anything other to them than a voting segment they seek to protect for their re-election.

As to Stupak. Perhaps his shameful concession to the abortionists in his party haunts him every day. If he wants to do the right thing, he can do start doing so now. Otherwise, it’s his burden to continue to bear / cry me a river.

Shame on “pro-life” people for belonging to a party that promotes the murder of God’s babies.

The godly are not to associate themselves with the ungodly: “Do not be yoked together with unbelievers. For what do righteousness and wickedness have in common? Or what fellowship can light have with darkness?”(2 Corinthians6:14)

the only reason pro-life Dems stick with the party is that they are all in with regard to the parties agenda of envy, jealousy, bitterness, covetousness and theft. It is not as thought the party has some virtue to offset its murderous abortion enthusiasm. It is evil and more evil.

Yes, pro-life is dead in the Dem party. I saw them walking away when they put an abortion plank in their platform. That was '74 I believe. I never again registered as a Democrat.

There is really no such thing as a pro-life Democrat anymore, even if the people calling themselves that haven’t figured it out yet. It’s a bit like being a “Catholic” that’s against organized religion.

Very fair question. I obviously don’t see either party candidate as being fully aligned with pro-life, but clearly Obama stands out as being the most anti-life / pro-abortion. My choice as a voter is Romney, the lesser risk to the pro-life movement than Obama.

As to leaving the GOP, I align with the Conservative party. I’m registered Republican only as a means of casting my vote during the primary. If my Conservative party had the critical mass as the other two parties, I’d happily check off ‘Conservative’ on my registration form.
