Ira Foreman has a tough job nobody could imagine would be tough just four years ago. Foreman is the man in charge of getting Jewish voters to the polls to support the re-election of Barack Obama. This was supposed to be a snap job. Foreman should be living it up in Charlotte knowing he had his people lined up and ready to go. But things have gone from bad to worse in the relationship between the Democrats and the Jewish voter.
At this point just two months from Election Day the support Jews will give Obama is not at all a sure thing. Those saying they will vote for him have dwindled from 78% in 2008 to only 64% at best today.
While in and of itself the Jewish vote is not very large, it has been a consistent “canary in a coal mine” indicator of trouble for Democrat presidential candidates. Since 1916 no Democrat has ever lost the Jewish vote but when the percent of support from Jews goes down below 68% no Democrat has won.
On top of all of the in-your-face insults to those who cherish Israel...

ROTFLMAO about dreaming of the Jewish vote. I think they secretly hate Israel.
My Jewish friends are mostly agnostic and deeply into academia. Not normally strong areas in the GOP.
This is why the GOP has been trying to concentrate on fiscal conservative vs socal conservative.
I’m not sure if its going to work but its a worthwhile effort to get the Jewish community thinking something other than the DNC.
Since Jewish-Americans no longer live as they used to —that is, almost exclusively in solidly Jewish neighborhoods — it’s impossible to accurately predict the Jewish vote.
Jewish liberal Democrats with their 600 Rabbis for Obama tend to congregate together, so are easily counted by polling organizations, but Jewish Republicans like me who have escaped such craziness are uncountable, and I’m sure there are many, many like me.
In any case, the Jewish vote is too small to worry about. It’s the Jewish money, or lack thereof, that the Democrats need to obsess about, and if it’s not coming in adequately, the anti-Jerusalem party is doomed.

Here is Tucson/Oro Valley AZ, we have a Jewish conservative talk show host on the weekends, who even does an hour on guns, a Jewish week day talk show host, who is also young, one of the biggest of the big wigs of the Republican party is Jewish, and in my district the nominee of state representative is Jewish. Must be the dry desert air.
If they have to think twice, then there is very little thinking going on in the first place.
Most of them are liberal first and Jewish second.
I think it is that leftist Jews are actually Marxists first and thereby, don’t beleive in God anymore. They hate Jews as they hate Christians because they worship God. They are afraid of Muslims and find their hatreds in common and of use to “progress” for the time being.
Jewish Americans can’t afford to follow these self annointed tribal leaders/activists anymore. They have made so much progress, they are cutting to the bone now. For Israel, it might be too late.
So, make some more noise.

The Jewish vote is huge where it counts. Call me when NYC gets a couple of Republican Congressmen, (not counting Staten Island!) It's not how many there are, it's where they vote. E.G., Blacks are about 12% of the population, yet their densely packed urban districts throw many a state into the wrong column.
Yeah sure they are.. The best we can hope for is that maybe a few stay home.
Jews are as much as 25% of only 4 or so Congressional Districts, and as much as 10% in less than 25 CDs. And those CDs are almost all overwhelmingly Democrat anyway.
Florida is likely the only state where a realistic change in Jewish voting would make a difference.
Florida is the home of the "Double Dipper" voter, and they make a giant foutaise and mockery of the vote. They vote in in NooYawk, or Joisey by absentee, and in Floriduh, too. We are also starting to see this in Maine. Although by November, most of the Massholes have already left for home ... or Floriduh!~
Of course, this disgusting perversion of the electoral process is a multi-ethnic phenomenon.

I can't help but get a sense of Schadenfreude regarding Foreman and his "tough job." He certainly deserves it as the head honcho of the National Jewish Democratic Council for many years. They've shilled for the 'Rats with reckless lies in defiance of Jewish interests here and in Israel consistently.
You can take today's report of Obama snubbing an emergency meeting with PM Netanyahu as adding more insult to injury. The relationship between the two, contrary to Jewish 'Rat propaganda, is testy. And it could have been predicted even before the 2008 election based upon the anti-Israel and pro-Palestinian individuals who were Obama's pals and whom Democrats like Foreman and Robert Wexler would either not discuss or try to explain away.
I will guarantee you that Americans abroad in Israel will vote at least 75% for Romney vs. Obama, and (hypothetically) if all Israelis could vote in the American election, Romney might get 80-90% of their vote.
These represent only a few sources; there have been other articles about Wall St money not going to Obama as much as in '08 (and a significant portion of that is Jewish money). The Washington Post estimated that 60% of the money that comes to Dems is from Jews (I know--it sounds hard to believe), but put all this together with the fact that Obama has been having trouble raising money and the conclusion is inescapable: his Jewish donor funds ain't what they used to be. And frankly, I'm surprised that someone as involved in this area as much as you are would not have seen some of this material or pieces like this.

This is anecdotal, but I always check on the political donations in my (heavily Jewish zipcode) and my neighbors in particular. Reliable Dem donors, including those who gave to Obama last time, are keeping their wallets closed. A few have switched sides and given to Romney.
Also, I just saw this evening a few lawn signs that say, Obama? Oy vey! I hope they catch on!

The more Orthodox Jews tend to be more conservative politically. They tend to be pro-life and anti-gay marriage, among other things. I was involved with the Young Republicans back in 1980. The night before the election we set up a “goon squad” plastering the Hasidic areas of Monsey and New Square with Reagan posters with his name spelled out in Hebrew(I should’ve kept a couple of them, they would interesting collectibles today). They overwhelmingly went for Pres Reagan and also in 84. Since then, with the exception of Elliot Engle, Bill and Hilary, and John Hall’s first term(NY19) and even then by a razor-thin margin, only because the Hasidim in Orange Cty were POed at Sue Kelly, the Orthodox around here, although a small voting bloc, lean right.
