Ditto with the image of dung on the Virgin Mary. In those cases, liberals didn’t care that anyone’s religious sensibilities were offended. So why, in this case, are liberals being sensitive to someone’s religious views and what offends them????

Let’s say these riots didn’t happen on 9/11. Let’s say Obama got re-elected (God forbid) and these riots happened two years from now. Does anyone honestly think that celebrities like Russell Simmons and Bette Midler would be calling for this filmmaker’s arrest?
This is all nothing more than panic that these riots will undermine Obama’s chances for being re-elected. Liberals know that they’re in the minority. They know that a majority of Americans backed Bush’s aggressive response to 9/11. They know that all they’ve got is their soapbox and their 100,0000 watt megaphone known as the MSM/Hollywood/Academia propaganda triumvirate.
They know Romney’s response sounded strong and Presidential, and it will resonate with Middle America, so they have to insist that the opposite is true. If Obama was caught murdering a puppy, Russell Simmons would say “puppies are evil and we must get rid of them”.
