Mitt’s Gettysburg Moment
National Review ^ | 9-18-12 | Michael Walsh

Posted on 09/18/2012 6:23:58 AM PDT by radioone

Mitt Romney found himself in an unexpected place last night — in the public eye. He ought to make the most of it.

Milk-Carton Mitt’s surprise turn upon the stage — did you know he was running for president? — came courtesy of the currently unemployed James Earl Carter IV, son of James Earl Carter III and grandson of the ineffable James Earl Carter, Jr., and a big fan of Barack Hussein Obama II, who found and relayed a surreptitiously recorded video in which Romney sounded remarkably like . . . a real conservative.

He ought to own it.

For sure, even Team Romney knows what’s coming next. The barrage of media criticism. The shrieks of “how dare you?” The tsk-tsking of ostensible friendlies. The constant press corps demands for clarification or, better yet, groveling abnegation. And more video’s on the way — be sure to read this story by David Corn for the full details. It’s going to get very, very ugly very, very quickly.

All Romney has to say:

We have an ambassador, a civil servant, and two marines murdered in a embassy with no protection from the State department and you find these taped conversations more shocking? WHERE ARE YOUR PRIORITIES?

Excellent thought.

Problem is that, contrary to what the author suggests, Mittens isn’t going to lay out a detailed tax plan that blows everyone away. Just the same old Pelosi tripe - must pass it (elect me) to see what’s in it. More mush for the sheeple.

—In a perfect world—

Romney should hold a press conference and wait for the inevitable “Do you think you should apologize?” question. Then, he should explain that leaders take action and move forward while losers make “Forward” into a slogan and waste time on apologies.

Then, he should come down from the podium and punch the reporter in the face and say, “Oh yeah. Leaders punch leftist crybabies in the face too.”

Here's the offending quote that has their presstitutes with their knickers in a twist:

Romney, who criticizes President Obama for dividing the nation, divided the nation into two groups: the makers and the moochers. Forty-seven percent of the country, he said, are people “who are dependent upon government, who believe they are victims, who believe the government has a responsibility to take care of them, who believe they are entitled to health care, to food, to housing, to you name it. . . .”

Tell me what is factually wrong with this statement.

>>WHERE ARE YOUR PRIORITIES?

I hope someone is thinking about this in the Romney camp. He needs to put into words the fact that the media is circle jerking over a bunch of drama while Americans are dieing because of the ineptness of the current administration.

This needs to be iterated over and over.

Mitt was dead on. If Obama is re-elected the 47% Mitt spoke of will turn into 55% or better,

Obama is the Food Stamp President. The Welfare King, the Emperor of the Unemployment payoffs.

These are his base.

It is undeniable

When a Democracy finds that it can vote money for itself it destroys itself. Voting for Obama is doing exactly that.

Plagiarizing me from earlier:

“There is no challenge which is valid unless it can be proved that the number is appreciably wrong.
It ain’t...case closed.

If Liberals object to the statement, what can they offer as an actual and pertinent claim to the contrary?

They are squirming because someone has finally called their base just exactly what it is... a crowd of bought and paid-for whining, lazy jerks who have been conditioned to remain dissatisfied, lazy, surly and to continue demanding more and more of working Americans with absolutely NO regard for what increasing taxation is doing to the country!”

AND:

• “Getting right to it, let’s be honest with ourselves. This statement was never meant to be broadcast to the general public.”
Neither here nor there...I think it was a correct and totally objective view of the facts. Period.
Mitt is wrong to back off this... when all Conservatives agree with the figures, facts and the candidate’s right to observe them publicly or privately.
Denying logic is a dangerous path.... look what it has done to Liberalism.

How many of the 47% wish they could find a job that paid enough so that they would be paying taxes? Maybe I’m wrong but I find it hard to believe that they’re all voting for government handouts.

Pickett”s Charge? Or Chamberlain’s defense of Little Round-Top?

More like J.E.B. Stuart. Loss of situational awareness and disorienting from the main efffort.

Glen Beck on TV had and excellent summary what happened in lybia. His hypothesis (theory for those in rio linda) is that Obama Administration is trying to buy back weapons from lybian rebels.

The MSM is covering for Obama and the talking heads are stuck on clueles. (for those in rio linda, scarborough is the MSM fool number one)

well, if they want a job and to escape from government dependence, they won’t be voting for the great destroyer Obama. He’ll keep them unemployed and trapped in government dependence forever if he has his way. He’ll keep his boot on their neck so the Rat party can harvest their cotes every 4 years. He could no care less about them or the fact they can’t find a job.
