All Romney has to say:
We have an ambassador, a civil servant, and two marines murdered in a embassy with no protection from the State department and you find these taped conversations more shocking? WHERE ARE YOUR PRIORITIES?
Problem is that, contrary to what the author suggests, Mittens isn’t going to lay out a detailed tax plan that blows everyone away. Just the same old Pelosi tripe - must pass it (elect me) to see what’s in it. More mush for the sheeple.
—In a perfect world—
Romney should hold a press conference and wait for the inevitable “Do you think you should apologize?” question. Then, he should explain that leaders take action and move forward while losers make “Forward” into a slogan and waste time on apologies.
Then, he should come down from the podium and punch the reporter in the face and say, “Oh yeah. Leaders punch leftist crybabies in the face too.”
Romney, who criticizes President Obama for dividing the nation, divided the nation into two groups: the makers and the moochers. Forty-seven percent of the country, he said, are people who are dependent upon government, who believe they are victims, who believe the government has a responsibility to take care of them, who believe they are entitled to health care, to food, to housing, to you name it. . . .
Tell me what is factually wrong with this statement.
Pickett”s Charge? Or Chamberlain’s defense of Little Round-Top?
Mitt was dead on. If Obama is re-elected the 47% Mitt spoke of will turn into 55% or better,
Obama is the Food Stamp President. The Welfare King, the Emperor of the Unemployment payoffs.
These are his base.
It is undeniable
When a Democracy finds that it can vote money for itself it destroys itself. Voting for Obama is doing exactly that.
I just sent Mitt a “Good Job!” message in the only way I could, I dontated to his campaign for the first time.
Plagiarizing me from earlier:
“There is no challenge which is valid unless it can be proved that the number is appreciably wrong.
It ain’t...case closed.
If Liberals object to the statement, what can they offer as an actual and pertinent claim to the contrary?
They are squirming because someone has finally called their base just exactly what it is... a crowd of bought and paid-for whining, lazy jerks who have been conditioned to remain dissatisfied, lazy, surly and to continue demanding more and more of working Americans with absolutely NO regard for what increasing taxation is doing to the country!”
AND:
Getting right to it, let’s be honest with ourselves. This statement was never meant to be broadcast to the general public.
Neither here nor there...I think it was a correct and totally objective view of the facts. Period.
Mitt is wrong to back off this... when all Conservatives agree with the figures, facts and the candidate’s right to observe them publicly or privately.
Denying logic is a dangerous path.... look what it has done to Liberalism.
I’m thinking that Mitt will apologize.
The MSM IS THE 47%
Scarburough was in full green eye jealousy mode.
How many of the 47% wish they could find a job that paid enough so that they would be paying taxes? Maybe I’m wrong but I find it hard to believe that they’re all voting for government handouts.
James Earl...Carter. A fitting name for a wannabe assassin.
My thoughts (and I’ve been talking about “the divided nation” here on FR for years):

"Retreat, hell!! We're not retreating. We're just advancing in a different direction!"
Romney should press forward, go for it..own his comments, and make his case to the American people..I suspect that these comments will secretly resonate with a lot of independents....
From the piece:
This is Mitts time, this is his moment. As at the Battle of Gettysburg, neither side was really looking for this fight at this time and in this place, but here it is. And that means going all in.

Amen!
(For once - I'm glad for Mother Jones.)
It's a tempest in a teapot. The author ruined his otherwise good essay with that ending.
