Let’s do an exercise this morning (but not P90x or anything, because we all don’t have to be Paul Ryan…though, that would be nice).
So, the corrupt vintage media in Barack Obama’s Ministry of Truth (Minitrue for short) pushes a narrative that there’s more widespread support for him in 2012 than there was in 2008; this is, of course, required if the polls that Minitrue expects you to believe without question could possibly be accurate since in the polls that show Obama leading he’s snagging a bigger share of the vote in swing states than he did in 2008. That’s just not possible, folks.
If you stop and think about it, you’ll see how irrational it is.
When I was a kid, I must have seen JAWS on TV late at night and for a while I had an irrational fear of great white sharks (how racist, I know). I was six or seven and would get the jitters in a swimming pool…or around Lake Erie…and I’d even be a little leery getting into a bubble bath because I couldn’t see to the bottom of the tub. This lasted until my parents taught me how to stop, think, and decide if my fear was rational or not by seeing if I could punch some logical holes into whatever crazy thing was scaring me.
Let’s do that with Minitrue’s latest pro-Obama narrative. Does the public really love this man MORE in 2012 than in 2008?
Here are some things I could think of just off the top of my head indicating that is NOT the case:
* 2009 — saw the rise of the Tea Party, which didn’t much like Obama. Minitrue kept trying to claim the Tea Party didn’t exist, but there sure were a lot of people packed into those rallies and none of them loved Obama more in 2009 than they did in 2008
* 2009 — Town Hall Meetings against Obamacare proved the public hated this bill, despite Democrats and Minitrue (but I repeat myself) claiming the public loved it. Minitrue did its best to hid the Town Halls from the public but film emerged online showing Democrats terrified by the negative reaction they were getting in their districts. Some Democrats even stopped returning to their districts so they would avoid being screamed at.
* 2010 — Glenn Beck’s Restoring America Rally in DC…which easily had over a million attendees. I know because some friends and I were there and we saw how Minitrue kept trying to lie and claim there were only 50,000. It was easily the largest assemblage of people around the Lincoln Memorial that I can think of. None of these people loved Obama more in 2010 than they did in 2008…and they came from around the country to show it.
* 2010 — Midterm elections…and Minitrue spent several months in the lead up claiming that Democrats would not only hold the house but would also gain members. It was the biggest blowout against a party in power in many decades. Nancy Pelosi was removed as Speaker, despite claiming up until election day that she’d retain her gavel. Democrats lost governorships, Secretaries of State positions, and state legislatures. Clearly, Americans did not love Obama and Democrats more in 2010 than they did in 2008.
* 2008 – 2012 = the antics and adventures of Andrew Breitbart gave Americans opposed to Obama energy and encouragement and people responded with enthusiasm for everything he did. We will forever be grateful.
* 2011 — Occupy Wall Street fizzled out and did not return in the spring of 2012 as promised. Democrats at first embraced it as the antithesis of the Tea Party but then had to disown the “movement” when it clearly focus-group tested poorly and hurt the Democrat brand further. In 2012, Democrats and Minitrue are not pretending that OWS never happened.
* 2012 — Chick-Fil-A Appreciation Day…a massive outpouring of support for a business besieged by the Left. Minitrue refused to cover it, but word got out anyway and lines stretched around for blocks causing some locations to run out of chicken.
* 2012 — “You Didn’t Build That, Somebody Else Made That Happen”…a quote from Obama that I think sealed his fate and that objective historians will one day agree is what cost him the election in a “let them eat cake” moment. Minitrue pretends this didn’t happen either, or that Obama was taken out of context.
Despite Minitrue’s best efforts, 2 + 2 must always equal 4.
There is no great white shark in the bathtub or swimming pool.
Fear is the best weapon in the Democrats’ arsenal. The Alinsky Rules for Radicals assume their opponents will cower and quiver with frost-fingered fear.
Sitting down today for a few minutes and thinking about things that punch holes in the narrative that Barack Obama is popular and beloved by the majority of Americans is a smart thing for you to do on a personal level…because once you do this, you’ll see just how much Minitrue lies to you…and how ridiculous the lies are because consistently the tee-vee networks and the newspapers attempt to rewrite history to better suit Democrats today.
They’ve tried to pretend an awful lot of things since 2008 didn’t happen…and that’s just AWFUL period.

If everyone who feels lied to by this President and the Democrat msm would take three days off before the election, the country and the government would shut down.
There is no reason for tax payers who are shtruggling, as Michelle says, to continue to support the corruption, the fraud,and the naked power-grab by enemies of our nation.
If Obama is re-elected, I’m going to take the rest of my life off.

Fast & Furious is post-2008. Even some Hispanics who are supposed to toe the plantation line are upset that dozens, if not hundreds, of Mexicans lost their lives because of this program, which no one on the left has accurately explained. Tracking guns without using tracking devices doesn't pass the smell test. Those of us on the right understand that the program was an attempt to foster violence, which could ultimately lead to an anti-Second Amendment gun grab. Those on the left are just confused.
The Benghazi/Egypt/Arab Spring debacles have been so replete with lies from the administration that even CNN and USA Today have run some articles questioning Obama's veracity, in a belated attempt, I suppose, to maintain the tiny bit of credibility they still maintain.
A major factor, which I've discussed ad nauseum with some left-leaning but basically independent acquaintances here in New Jersey is the whole White Guilt meme. In 2008, I often heard, "It would be great to elect a Black president to show the world that the USA is a post-racial society." Well, we did that and have suffered the consequences, not because we elected a Black president, but because we elected a particluar Black president. Many, if not most who voted for Obama primarily because of this will not make the same mistake in 2012.
Obama's complete abandonment of Israel, as evidenced by his shaky relationship with Netanyahu, and his inability to deter Iran's nuclear proliferation, have made all but the most secular Jews wary. While only about 2% of the voting population, Jewish people have much greater influence than that small number might indicate. They are active in the arts, in publishing, in education, and in fundraising. In Florida, in particular, they are an important voting bloc in a critical swing state.
A final thought. Mitt Romney may not be Ronald Reagan, but he is a far more viable candidate than a tired John McCain was. And the brilliant Paul Ryan adds much to the ticket, whereas Sarah Palin, though a darling of the right, was an easy target for the malefactors on the left who cited here inexperience (though she was a successful governor) while totally ignoring Obama's.
For Obama to win re-election, he must buck ALL the trends of Presidential races from the past 75 years. Americans have always voted their pocketbook (although less so in times of war) and this election should be no different. Yet the MSM tells us Obama is ahead and the dissatisfaction Americans feel about him and his record won’t affect their vote. Really? I refuse to believe it. There is a huge, simmering anger in America (we got a peek at it on Chick-fil-A Appreciation Day) and I don’t believe that anger has subsided.
Sustained high unemployment, crippling debt, higher gas, energy and food prices, a downgraded credit rating, and a foreign policy that is unraveling before our eyes. Sure, Obama is still as popular as ever. Phffft. Stay strong my FRiends! Election day is just over a month away. Don’t let the media get you down.

A couple of more thoughts since my last rant:
In adition to Fast & Furious and Benghazi, there have been a few other ugly scandals: Solyndra, which was operated by Obama supporters, cost the taxpayers over half a billion dollars. And there are many other “new energy” companies where the story was similar. “Old energy” companies, particularly those that mine coal, have been all but shut down by Obama and his Gestapo EPA. That’s not a harbinger of increased Obama votes in the West Virginia, Pennsylvania coal belt. The Keystone Pipeline debacle, a gift to the Enviro-Whacko community, has been a negative for everyone else.
Failing to drill and transport oil may not be solely responsible for $4.00 gas, but, to add a small energy metaphor, lighting a candle is always better than cursing the darkness. Obama and the rest of the libs have also made up their own facts about the horrors of fracking, yet the administration tries to take credit for the economic growth in states like North Dakota, where fracking has generated a boom. In short, anything and everything related to energy is a big Obama negative.
Finally, Obama’s advancement of the homosexual agenda, especially gay marriage, will cause him some pain in some of the more traditional Black and Hispanic communities, where the Church still matters. They will still support Obama by huge numbers, but, perhaps, not so overwhelming as in 2008. And the effect of Obamacare’s forcing many Catholic enterprises and universities (such as Georgetown) to forfeit their religious beliefs and provide contraceptives and even abortiafacients in their healthcare coverage may be more harmful to Obama’s prospects than many have predicted. While many Catholics don’t follow every single tenet of their church, most still respect the concept of religious freedom, particularly when it is being torpedoed by the unpopular, quasi-Constitutional horror known as Obamacare.
There are a myriad number of reasons that former Obama supporters will not be voting for him in 2012, but it is nearly impossible to find anyone who didn’t vote for him in 2008 who will in 2012.

Don’t forget the “Bradley (Wilder) Effect”...1.e.not being honest and candid with pollsters or others for fear of being labeled a “racist”.
The best analysis I have heard is:
I know several people who voted for Obama who said they won’t do it again; I don’t know anyone who say they voted for McCain last time, but will vote for Obama this time.
